My eyes finally open and I find myself sprawled on the floor, Marcus, Max, the Dauntless leader, and my parents surrounding me. At first I'm confused. Then I remember what happened. I fainted. My cheeks burn with shame that I fainted over something so silly. Marcus asks me if I'm alright and I nod my head, as he offers me a glass of water. Then a sickening feeling occurs and I start to feel dizzy again. I remember that my blood did not drip into the Dauntless bowl. I cannot be Dauntless. I start to panic and hesitantly ask
"Um, what bowl did my blood drip into?"
Max answers me: "Your blood dripped into the Amity bowl. It's a good thing, really, since you proved you don't belong with us over fainting over your own blood, you would never make it through Dauntless initiation, weakling."
Max's words sting and I fight hard to blink back tears.
"Look and you're crying about it too! You're pathetic, I can't believe I ever thought you would be a good Dauntless."
"That's enough!" My parents say to Max.
"But, I meant to choose Dauntless, my blood accidentally dripped into the Amity bowl. It's not my fault! You seriously can't make me go to Amity! I don't belong with them, I belong with the Dauntless!" I yell.
"Marcus is the leader of the Choosing Ceremony this year, so I think he makes the desicion of what should happen. What do you think?" My mother says turning towards Marcus.
"Well," Marcus says, thinking. "Although she didn't mean to choose Amity, it's whatever bowl her blood goes into that determines her faction. So, I'm afraid Meagan will have to transfer to Amity. I'm sorry, that's just the rule." Marcus says.
Anger courses through me and I yell at Marcus: "No! You can't! My whole life I couldn't wait to be a real Dauntless member and you are NOT going to take that away from me!"
"Meg, calm down it'll be alright." My father says.
"How can you say it'll be alright?! I'm going to Amity! I'm going to have to be a peaceful, banjo strumming, pansycake!" I yell at my father. I know there's no point yelling at my father because he's trying to help, but I can't believe this is happening to me.
"I'm sorry." Marcus says again. "We have to call the next person, we still have many people left to choose." He walks away and begins calling the next person as my parents help me stand up and lead me over to where the Amity are sitting.
"I know it's hard Meg." My mother begins. "We'll miss you and we know how much you wanted to be Dauntless, but maybe Amity won't be as bad as you think."
"I doubt that." I mutter under my breath.
"Even though you're not going to be Dauntless you can still act brave while you're an Amity. It'll be fine." My parents hug me and walk back to where the Dauntless sit.
The Amity leader welcomes me with a smile and has me stand next to her daughter, a girl named Belle with long brown hair and a yellow dress. Belle turns toward me and smiles.
"Hi I'm Belle. I'm really sorry that you fainted. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." I nod my head at her and focus my attention back to who's choosing. A girl from Candor named Lucy is called and she chooses Amity. She walks over and stands on the other side of Belle. I hesitantly look over at where the Dauntless are standing. I look at my friends. They all probably thing I'm a pansycake too, after fainting. Zoe catches my eyes and gives me a look of pity, but smiles at me. Ryder smiles at me. Wow that's surprising, I was expecting them to glare at me. I still can't believe I'm Amity, I want to be running with them after the Ceremony and jumping into the train. I sigh. I want to do what my parents said and still be brave, even if I'm Amity. So instead of getting sad that I'm not Dauntless, I'm going to be as bold and strong as I can in Amity. I'll show everyone just how much fire an Amity girl can have.

Hello Friends! :D
Okay I don't know if you guys noticed this but there was an error in Chapter 4. I said that Meg's parents knew there was a 99.9% chance they could choose another faction. If you guys did notice that you were probably like "What the heck?!" What I meant to say was that Meg's parents knew there was a 99.9% chance they would choose Dauntless, but also a tiny chance they would choose a different faction. I accidentally switched it. I'll also correct it in the chapter. Also Meg met Belle and saw Lucy! If you don't know who they are Lucy is from Animatorgirl11's story and so is Belle, but I kind of created Belle's character. You guys should totally follow Animatorgirl11 and read her story, all her stories are AMAZING! Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this, sorry I took forever to update!
