Just Project Partners? (THG fanfic-Finnick & Annie)

Miss Smarty Pants

"Annie!"

I look up form the book I'm reading and find my best friend Madge staring at me with her hands on her hips.

"What?" I ask while sliding my bookmark into my book and setting it down.

" What! What! All you have to say is what?! Well I'll tell you what! In a couple minutes I will possibly meet my perfect match!" she says with a huff.

Madge is totally boy crazy. Ever since we found out we'd be doing a project with a class form another school, she's been raving about the cute boys we are going to meet. I don't honestly care. I don't see what the big deal is. They're just humans like us. My main focus is on grades- the thing thats important.

"Hey!" one of my classmates, Johanna says." Would you shut up about already!"

Madge slums down in her seat. The bell rings and we all get up and leave. I sigh as I turn the corner.

"Oh can you imagine! He's probably going to be-" Madge blabs untill johanna makes a fist. A small smile creeps onto my lips. Johanna is slightly like me. No boys for us. I tell Madge that I'll see her in like two minutes and start to head to my locker. I don't make it though, becauseIi collide with something. I drop all my books in the process and fall down with the person I collided with.

" Watch where you're going!" He says to me. I don't ever recall seeing him before. He has bronze looking hair that flops a little, is very muscular, tall, and has the most incredible green eyes I gave evr seen in my life. I pick up my books and stand up.

" It's not my fault. How about you watch where your going. It's not just my fault you know"

He lets out a small chuckle." Oh,your little miss smarty pants. Huh, guess I'll see you around". He gives me a small wave and countinues walking. This is why I don't pay attention to boys.

I hurry to get the things I need from my locker and rush to class. I am greeted ny Madge saying, " How did I get here before you? I NEVER get here before you!".

" I rammed into a guy that I've never seen before. He was a complete jerk, making it seem like I was the one to blame. He rammed into me to". I sit down in my seat while Madge's face lights up.

" Was he cute?" she shakes her head and says in her fantasy voice," He could be your match!". She sighs and continues speaking. " Did you get his name?"

" No, and I don't care about it. He was a jerk and I hope I never see him again". I open up my book and start reading.

" Okay class, here they come!" my history teacher, Mr Flickerman, says delighted. " Find an empty seat. I adjust the name tag that's on my desk and pay no attention to the figures crowding into my classroom.

" Okay everyone's eyes up here!" says an elderly sounding woman. I glance up and strt to pay attention. She wears a bright smile on her faces. " My name is Miss Mags and this is Mr. Flickerman." She then lets Mr.Flickerman speak.

" We'll be giving you all assinged partners and you'll be doing a project about your partner. I sent you each an email and Miss Mags did also. That email explains the requirements for this project. If you don't recieve it, tell one of us right away and we'll give you a printed copy."

" Okay! Here are the partners!". Miss Mags reads off the partners and makes us raise our hands so we now who are partners are. She goes to fast, so all I know is that I'm paired with a boy named Finnick. I never catch anyone raise their hand. Madge got paired with a boy named Gale, Peeta got paired with a girl named Katniss, Marvel with a girl named Cashmere, Clove with a boy named Cato, Gloss with a girl named Glimmer,and other pairings that I can't quite remember. The teachers tell us to go find our partners but I stay put. I never saw a hand go up. I close my book and search the room. I feel a person behind me say, " Looks like we're partners, smarty pants.".

I turn around and I see the boy I rammed into earlier. Why him?! Johanna gives me a sympathetic look and says" Good luck with him!".

Finnick lets out a chuckle and says," Very funny Johanna! Still have that irratating attitude, don't we!"

She glares at him. How do they know each other?" Annie" she strts as she turns to face me." I'm pretty sure that if he's an irritating cousin to me, he'll be irritating to you too." She glares at him one more time, and then walks away. A blonde hair girl comes up to Finnick and says," Wish I was with you! " He give her a smirk. " Same here Cashmere! We'll still get to hang out!". She gives him a quick kiss on the lips and turns to face me. " Stay away from my boyfriend, or I'll make your life soooo miserable". She makes it obvious to drag out the so. She walks away and goes by Marvel. Poor Marvel!

" Lovely girl. Where'd you meet her? At the devil's house?"

A smile creeps on his face as he chuckles. " No" He shoves his hands in his pockets. " So you met my girlfriend, where's your boyfriend? When's he going to come over here and tell me to stay away form his girl?".

" Don't have one".

" Oh... poor you" I says with a sarcastic face. " What kind of school's name is Panem Prep? It's lame".

" What kind of school's name is Victors Prep? That screams cocky" I say as flatly as I can.

" Well aren't we just a ray of sunshine today." he mumbles to himself, but so clearly that I could hear him. I shake my head slightly."Listen, I'm not doing your own project for you! You can get a bad grade, but I'm not! You are to corroborate so I can maintain my A+ in this class.".

"Jeez, that's fine. Don't you think I want to get a good grade too?"

I open my mouth to speak, but Mr.Flickerman cuts me off." Okay! Times up!". I return to my seat and sigh.

"You got stuck with him? Oh, I guessed it!"

I sigh yet again. " It's not like your partner could be any better! Gale,is it?"

She smiles her biggest smile to date," He's sooo cute! He's so nice and-"

"- dreamy, smart, funny, yeah I know!" I say as I cut her off.

This project is going to stink.
