When my eyes, or I guess what used to be my eyes, open I don't have light flooding them. My vision is filled with dark gray fog that leads up to pitch black nothingness. I turn my head slowly to look into the never ending abbess of fog and darkness. As I turn my head back I see a dark figure in the distance that seems to be drifting towards me. I look down at my body to see that what used to be my skin is practically translucent and I can see me skeleton. When I look back up to see that the figure is standing directly in front of me, so close that if he leaned in we would touch noses. Well that is however if the being possessed a nose, as where the face should have been, he had none. His whole body was covered in a cloak that billowed out behind him and looked as though the universe was its fabric. It seemed like a lifetime before he finally spoke, if you would even call it speaking, for he made no sound but I heard the words in my head "Are you ready for your decent?" I looked into his "face" baffled. "Where exactly am I?" I said out loud "And where shall you be taking me?". "I am what you humans call the grim reaper." The voice in my head said again "and I am taking you to be judged." "but I'm a good person why am I in hell?" I said my voice sounding strained. "There is no heaven or hell as you humans like to believe only the underworld where the 3 judges decide your fate." Grim said in my head again. "That's sort of funny I guess, all my family said they would be waiting for me at the pearly gates." I said with a sort of sad smile tugging at the corner of my lips. "the souls of the dead and forgotten wait for no one." His voice said solemnly, and then turned and began to drift back the way he came. I took that to mean that we were done with this stage of the underworld and it would time to face judgement with the Grim Reaper as my guide.
