Dear Diary,
It has been three weeks since my parent’s accident and I feel like my life is finally turning
around. I start school in a couple of hours although things will never be the same, I will always
be known as the girl with the dead parents. I met a guy this summer Sean I think his name was
and he gets me I feel like I could just be me around him. He helped me get over my parents
accident seeing as his dad left when he was young and his mom passed not too long ago he
knew exactly how I felt, Elli wrote as she began tearing ounce again.
“Elli get down here breakfast is ready”, Ashley (Elli’s aunt) called. Elli wiped her tears and
went downstairs only to find that her aunt has prepared blueberry pancakes and strawberry
juice, Elli’s favorite. Elli’s eyes were red and a bit watery it was obvious she’d been crying. Just
then Ashley asked…
“Are you okay to go to school today because you could always stay home if you want, I
have no problem with that”
“I’m fine okay I just want people to stop being so nice just because my parents are
dead!” Ellie snapped. Ashley’s eyes whitened.
“I’m sorry okay it’s just that I miss them and…” Elli choked on her words and couldn’t
finish her sentence as she blasted into tears. She hasn’t cried all summer but she finally broke.
Ashley leaned in and gave her a hug.
“You’re a strong girl, hey stronger than me and I just want you to know that no matter
what you’ll always have me by your side,” Ashley strongly said. Beep beep the car horn went;
it was her best friend Skyler waiting outside for her. Elli whipped her tears grabbed her bag and
flew out the house and into the car.
“Hey girl how was your summer!” Skyler stormed.
“Okay I guess,
“Oh I-I’m sorry honey, you ok? Elli smiled and nodded. When they got to school there
were so many new faces to Barry High School.
“I’m sorry for your loss Elli”
“I’m sorry for your loss Elli” random kids began.
“You ok?” Skyler asked.
“Yes I just need to breathe a little!” Elli blurted. She walked down the hall with a red
face full of anger and teary eyes full of sadness. Fortunately to save her-self the humiliation
she held back the tears and went her first class, which happened to be History. She walked in, knowing no one…or at least that’s what she thought.
