“Where were you, I was worried sick what if something happened to you, did I give you permission to

go out?” question after question Eric (Sean’s brother) blurted at Sean. Sean took a deep breath not

knowing what to do or say.

           “ANSWER ME!” Eric shouted.

“I-I was with a friend,” Sean stuttered.

“I’ll deal with you later.” Eric angrily said as he walked out the room slamming the door behind

him.  Sean sat on his bed and fell asleep.

                                                              ~~The Next Day~~

Elli walked in the class with a smile on her face. Sean was sitting there at his desk with a black

sweatshirt on.

“Hey, I had fun last night,” Elli informed.

“Ya, me too,” Sean said while covering his face.

“Sean, you’re on time today congrats but you know the rules no hats in class, take if off. Elli’s

smile was whipped off her face when she saw Sean’s eyes. It was black and blue and swollen.

“Sean, see me after class,” Mr. Lowie told.  Mr. Lowie blabbed about the importance of the War of

1812 the whole class period. The clock couldn’t have gone slower it felt as if they were in that class

room for hours. The bell finally rang and that led to the lie that Sean had to tell Mr. Lowie. Elli left

wanted to know what Mr. Lowie wanted to tell Sean but she couldn’t leave, so she decided to be

noisy and stand outside the room.

“Sean you want to tell me what happened there,” Mr. Lowie asked curiously.

“I um fell off my skateboard and landed on my face,” Sean answered hoping Mr. Lowie wouldn’t

ask questions.

“Very well then, but if you ever need to talk my door is always open. Sean nodded and walked not

only out of the classroom but out of the school. Elli blasted behind him.

    “Sean? Sean,” She screamed.

“Go back to school Elli, just stop following me ok, leave me alone!” Sean blurted. Elli didn’t want

to believe what she was seeing or hearing, this was not the Sean she met over the summer, she

turned around and started walking away.

Elli, wait I’m sorry this isn’t me forgive me,” he apoligized

Elli turned around smiled and came over and gave him a hug.

“Sean, what happened to your eye and don’t say you fell off your skateboard” She said.

“Yesterday, I wasn’t supposed to be out but I went to the party anyway, and my brother was

drunk so when I got home there he was waiting for me in my room and well you know what

happens next,” Sean explained.

“Oh my god, Sean you need to tell someone I’ll go with you.

“Don’t worry about it this is a onetime thing ok,” Sean told as he leaned in for a hug.

“Come ‘on let’s get out of here, go have some fun,” Elli suggested.

“Remember where we first met, that little spot in at the beach by your house,” Sean implied.

“Course I do,”

“Great!” Sean said as he grabbed Elli’s hand. They went to the beach, and sat at their spot

where they first ever met each other. They talked, they laughed, they kissed, it was great until

they both got phone calls from there guardians telling them to get home. For the first time Sean

didn’t have a care in the world, neither of them did. Sean walked Elli to her front door seeing as

she lived rite on the beach. Elli walked into the house shut the door and called for her aunt.

“Elli Elizabeth Springer, who ever gave you the right to ditch school, since when do you

ditch!”Ashley screamed.

“Sorry,”

“Who’s the boy that you’re drooling over; he must be important if he has you skipping school.”

Ashley started

“His name is Sean and he is so sweet and mysterious and he helped me through the summer,”

Elli expressed.

“You’re lucky I’m a sucker for young love; go up to your room, but for the next week you go to

school and back clear?” Ashley spoke. Elli nodded and went up to her room and did absolutely

nothing but lye on her bed. One day passed, two, three and Sean hasn’t come to school ever

since there ditch day. Elli was getting worried and didn’t know what to do or who to tell.

“Mr. Lowie, can I talk to you?” Elli asked.

“Sure thing Elli, meet me outside I’ll be right there,” He responded. They both walked out of the

room and to the hallway.

“Mr. Lowie, do you know where Sean is he hasn’t been in school and he doesn’t answer my

texts, I’m a bit worried,” Elli cried.

“Why are you worried, he’s probably just sick,” He replied. Elli took a good moment then finally

spoke.

“Remember when he came to school with his black eye, he didn’t fall of his skateboard he was

hit by his brother and now I’m worried he could be seriously hurt,” she said nervously.

“Ok Elli I’m going to have a cop go over to his place and check things out you just go back to

class and relax.”

“Thank you, Mr. Lowie
