Her boots crunched on the gravelly and dusty road as she walked towards a roadside inn. It was late at night and the streets were empty and silent as a graveyard. However, as she neared the inn, she could hear the laughter of drunken men and the loud music blasting through speakers.

She reached her destination and stepped into the inn. She wrinkled her nose in disgust upon catching the scent of cheap liquor and sweat that were mixed together.

There were catcalls and wolf whistles from drunken men as she passed them on her way to her way to the bar. She made herself comfortable on a high stool as the bartender, a man in his mid-20's, approached her.

"I'll have a shot of your finest bourbon, please. On the house." She said to the man, her pupils dilating as she stared him intensely in the eyes. She smiled, satisfied that her compulsion had worked perfectly as the man scurried off to carry out her order.

A few moments later, the bartender whose name tag she had not bothered to read rushed back with her bourbon. The moment she received it she downed the drink in one gulp and slammed it back onto the table.

The door of the inn slammed open. She hadn't even turned her head to look at the source of the sound when her divine sense of smell caught a new and unfamiliar scent. The new arriver was the reason she had come to this puny inn. She had been tracking him for a few weeks, and he was her next target on her hit list.

His name was Joseph Santiago, and he had been slaughtering innocent people in Texas for over a month now. However, all of his victims had a similarity. They had two tiny pinpricks on their neck. She was skilled enough to know that the pricks were so much more than that. They were bite marks from a vampire, which meant that Joseph was one.

She got up and slowly walked towards the table that he sat at. She walked close enough to catch his eye and wink flirtingly at him, gestured for him to follow her and walked outside, making sure her hips were swaying alluringly. On her way out, she glanced back and sure enough, he was following her with a nasty and vicious grin on his face.

As soon as they were both outside, she turned to him and shook her head. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Someone's been really naughty the last couple of weeks." She said, a mischievous smile forming on her face. "Can you really blame me?" The man, also known as Joseph, said slyly. "No, not THAT kind of naughty, love." She said in her British accented voice that didn't really belong in Australia. "You think you've been really clever, don't you? That trail of murder down the coast of Texas, that was you, wasn't it? And don't bother lying to me, vampire." She continued sharply, emphasizing on the last word.

"Who the hell are you?" Joseph asked, confusion and bewilderment on his face. "You may know me as the Huntress Belladonna." She said formally. Joseph took one look at her and burst out laughing. "Are you quite done yet?" She asked, clearly disinterested. "Look, I'm sorry, hun, I don't know who you think you are, but the Huntress does not exist. She's just a myth." He said.

"Oh, but I can assure you that she does exist and is standing right before your very eyes." She told Joseph. Before he had the chance to reply, she had reached into her traveling cloak and taken out something.

It was a silver dagger, the blade engraved with ancient enchantments of dark magic while the hilt was wrapped in black leather. But the thing that made realization dawn upon Joseph was the image of a blood red Belladonna flower stamped on the middle of the blade of the dagger.

"Believe me now?" She said, and giving him no time to react at all, quickly buried the dagger up to its hilt in Joseph's chest and yanked it out. The vampire clutched at the gaping hole in his chest, but the damage was already done. The dagger had punctured his heart. He collapsed onto the ground, grey veins already starting to form all over his body.

"Karma will punish you. You've killed dozens of innocent people, and now, it's your turn to die." As soon as the last word left her mouth, Joseph's body erupted into flames, killing him instantly if he wasn't already dead.

She put the dagger away, stepped away from the burning corpse and walked off into the night, the moonlight illuminating her shadowy figure.
