This is our last embrace
Must I dream and always see your face
Why can't we overcome this wall
Well, maybe it's just because i didn't know you at all

- Jeff Buckley, Last goodbye

"I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too love" he kissed her on the forehead. "But both you and I know this ain't going to work."

She knew he was right. The last two months had been amazing, but the trip was going to an end and they weren't going to make it at home. It was all to much going on in both of their lides as it was right now. And all to much could go wrong. What if she took the step, and he didn't catch her. Or worse, what if she didn't dare to jump. She did love him, she really did, but was it enough?
He squeezed her hard towards him and she signed into his chest.

It was their last hug, and it really hurt him. But with him traveling so much, with his company, he should hardly be home. And the thought of make her move with him to every new city, and by that force her to drag up all her roots, wasn't even on his mind. She also had a life to live, and he wanted her to succeed with her dreams, and achieve the goals that she planned to do.

"I love you" he whispered in her ear. "Your the most special and wonderful women on this planet, don't you ever forget that." she blushed as he once again kissed her forehead lightly.

For anyone in the area, they seemed madly in love, and they really were, even though they weren't the least like each other. They had grown up in as different conditions as possible, associated with all to different people and were mostly like night and day. But it was their differences that made them so perfect for each other. They compleated each other, just like the sun and the moon. A sun and a moon that sadly needed to take different paths in life.

As they said their final goodbyes they knew that this was the end. With a tear rolling down her left cheek, she felt him kiss her for the last time. With a lump in his stomach, he could smell the scent of her hair for the last time.
This was it. She felt her heart break as she watched him leave, crossing between people in a hurry, as he needed to catch his flight. A long while she just stood there watching him leave, feeling how the tears now where streaming down her cheeks. Slowly drying her tears with her sleeve, she turned around and started walking the other way. On the same time, promising herself that this love that they shared was something special, and that she was going to keep their little infinite together, as their very own secret.

Now, as you can see it wasn't the lack of love, nor the 'none burning spark' that made them go separate ways that evening. They had both of these things. No, what made them split up was the fear of having to work so much, for something that had been so easy on the trip. It was the fear to see how changed their life's was going to be with each other in it. And it was the fear of stepping out of their perfect bubble. Fear was the main reason why they headed different ways. But you see, fate wasn't going to give up there.
So, she saw a little seed, that was going to make their pats cross once again.
