While I would like to think this idea is completely mine, I'm sure that there are similar story lines and plots out there. Please know that this is not on purpose and I am not trying to plagiarize, but sometimes we all find similar things to write about in different ways. Also, there will be little quotes at the beginning of each chapter, and these are from the initial place where I found the idea for this story. These quotes are from the lovely song "Fast Car" written by Tracy Chapman in the late 1980's, and recently covered by Jonas Blue (feat.) Dakota. I highly recommend listening to that song, as it is inspired by real people's real stories. And a little heads up, most chapters will have an uncommon word or phrase for their title, and somewhere in the chapter it will be explained, so don't feel forced to look it up :)

Thank you and hope you enjoy!

                       **Preface**

Everything that has ever existed has always found a way to end. Which is ironic, because people like to say "bad things come to an end," but I've never heard anyone add "good things do too" to the end. It's true though, and people don't realize that hurt and happiness are actually pretty similar. The easiest thing to notice is that they are both something that we can't just make up in an instant. Something has to make us feel that way, something we're passionate about. Whether it's a person, or a piece of art, maybe even a story; Anything that has a special value to someone can become something they're passionate about.

My passion was Oliver "Ollie" Atkins. Not because he was perfect in every way, shape, and form; but because he wasn't. He had noticeable flaws that made some people ridicule and persecute him to no end. Others simply knew he existed, though they never acknowledged him, because they thought he was some weird outsider. But I, for one, found each of his flaws a puzzle piece that might have lead me to figuring out who he really was some day.

To my surprise, the day when I found out who he truly was came sooner than I ever thought it would, and it was a crazy roller coaster that went every which way. All the anticipation I'd experienced, wanting to learn who he truly was dropped the second we started going. It became a thriller, even though I was holding on for dear life.

But roller coasters come to an end, and the day when I figured out what would destroy him came too, but after everything we'd been through, we were both ready for it.
