When he slipped his hands into mine electricity surged through us and he intwined our fingers. All I could think of doing was all I could do, stop, stare and smile. We began our prayer circle and I couldn't focus while he was gently squeezing my hand every couple of seconds. Maybe, just maybe he has those feelings for me too.
Today was a big day for band geeks, drum major tryouts! I wouldn't dream of even making the cuts for top three, but my old crush swayed my thoughts on trying out and I couldn't resist his glossy eyes when he "wanted" me to do something. "Taylor, just promise me you'll tryout. I don't want to be the only one to see how talented you are. You never know maybe you don't suck as badly as you think. I think you might just make it." Matthew lectured to me. This is my last year in middle school, I want to be noticed for something. I'm not sure quite what that is yet, but I just want I be remembered for something. When people hear the name Taylor I want them to think of me not responding "who's that?" I can't be invisible again! I hate walking through the halls and people pushing me bumping into me as if I don't even exist. "Okay, what's the harm of just trying out?" I respond to Matthew. I used to have the biggest crush in him but be became such close friends I can't imagine being more than friends. Matthew was a trouble maker constantly causing mischief. Omar walked in clicking his old dirty drum sticks against the tables, chairs, and the other drum stick. "Here's thing 1! thing 2 missed you." Omar is Matthews partner in crime, they are always together as if married. "Matthew, you trying out today?" Omar asked staring at me. "Maybe, I don't know. I was just telling Taylor she should try out, don't you think so?" Matthew responded. "yeah you both should it could be healthy competition!" Chad said getting excited. "DING, DING, DING!" The day is only starting who know what'll happened...
