"Where are we going, exactly." Brian asked the boy next to him as they trekked up a steep foothill in the Rocky Mountains alone. This wasn't unusual for the two, nonetheless, it made them tired.
"There's a city just a mile away," Grizz replied in a deeper voice that sounded mature, even though he was only twelve. "We'll gather supplies and find some shelter, preferably marked."
"How long will we be staying?" Brian asked. His voice was higher than Grizz's. After all, he was only eleven.
" As long as possible. We need to make it to Yellowstone before winter. Probably about a week."
The two boys reached the top of the hill. The city that Grizz had told Brian about was shining in the distance, not that Brian didn't believe him. Over the past year, Brian had grown to trust Grizz with his life, as he had done on many occasions. The two boys had run into trouble multiple times while traveling. There were times when they had almost been captured by police, angry shopkeepers, child protective services, hunters, poachers, and the AMS. Life was sure exciting for Brian and Grizz.
"Do you think we can risk it?" Brian said studying the so called city. It was more of a large town, and there weren't many penetrating lights on the edge of the town. They could change out of their human clothes, run down to the town in their morphs so they make better time, then, change back into their human clothes so they wouldn't get reported to the police.
"We might," Grizz said thoughtfully
"Let's do it. The town is so far away, I don't think any humans will see anything. Plus, the terrain is difficult," Brian shared his reasoning.
"Okay, but let's change out of our human clothes before we morph, I don't want to ruin another outfit," Grizz replied.
"My thoughts exactly."
