"I'm going to turn this on now, I need you to lay still. You may hear some weird noises but just try to relax." The doctor, Amanda, said. She was a short woman with caramel skin and long auburn hair tied back in a loose braid. I nodded mutely as she pushed the table I was laying on into the clear tube and shut the latch pressing a complex series of buttons on the door.
I laid back as the whirring began, trying to relax and properly process the events that transpired the past 48 hours. After we entered the building, and the guys finished a brief summary of the events, I was immediately taken into the medical ward of the deceptively small building, by the girl that found us in the living room. The girl introduced me to Amanda while the guys were herded into a different section with discussions of some meeting and a mission report.
17 minutes and 43 seconds passed and I was starting to panic. The tube felt very small and suffocating, I needed out. The noises were starting to give me a headache, the repetitiveness of them were grating on the last of my nerves. Finally the thumping stopped and Amanda's voice drifted in.
"We're almost done, you're doing great. I just need you to close you're eyes for a minute." I immediately scrunched my eyes tightly.
"Just relax and do not open you eyes." There was a series of bright flashes, that left dark blue steaks dancing behind my closed eyelids. Soon the tube was opening and I was released.

I sat on the bed swinging my legs of the edge as Amanda and three other people looked over the results of the tests. Finally Amanda turned towards me while the others bustled around in the background.
"We detected several foreign objects in your ear. One in each of your external ear canals, while the others seems to work as a blockage in the nerves for your central auditory system." She said. It took me moment to understand what they were saying, trying to filter through all the information in my head to find anything useful, but I came up empty. There was a couple of doctors who had experience with ears and their anatomy but never anything remotely similar to this.
She walked over to the board flicking on the light to show me the pictures that depicted my ear. I could barely make out the four gray dots near my head.
"It should be impossible to have anything near your auditory nerves without you being in extreme amounts of pain. Frankly I have no clue what the purpose of them could be." Amanda said, confusion evident on her face. She looked pained to admit that she didn't have any answers.
"Can you take them out?" I asked desperately. I shivered trying to shake off the feeling of utter violation. There was something in me that I had no knowledge of, that had unknown effects.
"I can try removing the objects in your external ear canals, we're not equipped to do the surgery required to remove the blockages in your nerves if it's even possible." Amanda said, reaching to grab a new pair of plastic gloves as well as several medical tools. "We would need better imaging and understanding of what they are to begin with or we could cause severe damage"
"It doesn't look that deep, but it does look like it's embedded in your skin. It might be painful but I should be able to pull it out." She informed me. I nodded quickly, it would be worth it to get them out.
I closed my eyes as I felt her poking around my ear. I felt something shift in my ear, tiny pricks being pulled out. I almost swore I felt the skin tearing, I bit lip and tried not to wince.
"I thought you loved me" I tried to look for the source of the whisper it felt like someone was right next in my ear.
