Ally's POV
"Well, let me tell you the real story." I took a shaky breath not being able to look anyone in the eyes.
"I am gay. If you have a problem with it, take it up with me. It is who I am. And i-it stinks that I could loose some people close to me because of this. The reason everyone is finding out is because I recently came out on social media. Kids from the school follow me. I woke up to an inbox full of hate" I said voice cracking. "That's it really"
I rushed to my seat shoving my face into my hands. I was mortified by the looks I received.
I felt arms wrap around me. I heard a few people getting up and walking over. I looked up to see who was hugging me, only to see May. I blushed and turned in my seat to hug her back. It was a nice change. Affection.

I had gotten a few numbers from my classmates. They all told me to text them if I needed them.
I decided I would walk home. As I began to walk down the street a few cars drive by. Some held my classmates. Others I didn't know.
I walked towards the park where I always went. I walked to my normal spot under a tree.
I pulled out my phone and put my headphones in listening to whatever was on this morning. I pulled out my notebook where I wrote everything down. I began writing today's events.
"Hey stranger" I heard a voice
Involuntarily I slammed my book closed.
I looked up to see May with an amused look on her face. I blushed immediately.
"Hi" I said quietly
"Mind if I sit" she said plopping down before I could answer
"Not at all" I mumbled
We sat there in silence.
A few minutes had passed and I began to speak.
"Thanks for the hug in class. I really needed it" I said quietly
"Of course" she nodded
We sat for another few minutes in comfortable silence.
She pulled out her sketch book and started on a new page. I half smiled as I tilted my head back into the tree and closed my eyes.
-
I looked down towards my phone. '7:46' it read.
"Shit" I muttered "Sorry I've really gotta go"
I looked over at May to see her leaning ago at the tree asleep. I lightly shook her. Her eyes bolted open.
"Shit what time is it" she said at the same time I said
"It's 7:47 I've really gotta go, thanks for hanging out" I said in a rush
We bid our goodbyes and left Borge scurrying off.
I was supposed to be home by 5. I'm gonna be in so much trouble.
I ran up to my driveway seeing my step-dads car in the driveway. Shit.
I stepped into the house trying to be quiet.
"You little bitch" his voice rang out
He turned the corner practically jogging to me.
"I said to be home before 5 you bitch" he said sending a blow to my stomach
I groaned in agony as he sent more kicks and punches all over my body.
"Worthless piece of shit is what you are" he yelled
After he had gone to his room I slowly got up wincing at every movement. I limped towards my room and began checking out the damage.
I just put some bandages here and there not really bothering to do much.
I pulled out my journal and began writing before starting my homework.
I knew if I tried to go get some of the meal I would be beaten further so I stayed locked up in my room.
-
Hours had passed and I was writing some poems; a hobby of mine.
My phone went off with a loud ding. I walked over skeptically. I picked up my phone to see May's contact that she made for herself.
I felt a small smile creep to my face as I read the message.
