Wasd pov

"Mom I'm home!!"

"I'm in the kitchen." I drop my backpack on the ground jogging to the kitchen. Sitting there with a bunch of papers scattered on the table, was my mom.

"Hey do you have homework? I'm having some friends coming over and we're going to have some adult talk." I nod sitting on a dining chair. "So, how was school?" She looked up at me taking off her glasses, putting her hair back.

"It was alright same old boring stuff. Tell me, why do I have to go to school again?"

"Because it's to get an education and have a better chance of a good job." She rolls her eyes in a mocking voice.

"What are you doing?" I lean over the table looking over all the papers with numbers and terms and agreements. Most of them things I don't bother to care for.

"Oh it's nothing, it's just grown up junk." She shakes her head putting her glasses back on. "Did Braydon bug you again today?" That kid was one thing I hated the most about school. He teases me everyday calling me all the names like gay, fag, loser and gets really pushy some days. I ignore it the best I can though.

"I didn't see him today. I think I'll go do my homework now.."I say refraining from limping, the bruise he gave me on my leg extremely sore.

Later that night when I finished my homework I heard the ruckus downstairs get louder. Opening the door to my room made the voices louder. I crept slowly towards the stairs, the warm light emitting from the dining area spreading into the darkness.
BANG—

"Ah-ouch!" I hiss, rubbing my damaged knee. All the voices suddenly going down to a whisper. Freezing I  bite my finger. The voices continue only in a hushed tone. Tiptoeing to the stairs I go down a few steps and sit.

"-As I was saying, I think having an exchange student would be nice for Wasd to make a new friend. He's 13 definitely old enough to show him around I think."

"Wait when is he coming?" A familiar voice asked, wondering the same myself.

"Tomorrow afternoon." My mother replied.

"Oh isn't that exiting!" A third voice chimed in.

"I just hope he reacts okay, since I didn't tell him yet."

Unbelievable. Why wouldn't she tell earlier. I scrunch up my nose.
"Maybe I should check up on him, brb." The chair sliding on the floor.
"Really you should stop using that." Another woman said.

"Don't judge my life." She laughed walking towards the staircase. I quickly stand up zipping to my room closing the door an hopping in bed, grabbing a book. A knock on the door matches the thumping in my chest.

"Come in." I smile as my mom's face peeks in through a crack in the door. "Hey, you doing alright?" She asked, timidly stepping in. "Finish your homework?" I nod in response looking down at my book, pretending to be busy.
"Okay then. Just wanted to check up on you, I guess you're pretty busy I'll leave you too it then. Night." She exited the room shutting the door behind her.
There's no way I'm sharing with a random person I don't even know.
