New to my Heart.

It was a cold and sad feeling, the small rain drops slide down my curled body. Nobody cared to see a stray anymore. I whimpered at the sight of the of a dry home, where I would pray to be someday. People walk by without a care as I rest in a damp, ripped box. I was gradually withering away, from my heart to my body.

Since you obviously know I'm a mutt on the streets, I won't bother you too much with the introductions. I am Bullet, a small chihuahua, terrier mix. I'm all black, I have a few burn marks on paws from my previous owner. I am female, and very into life. I have never once had a true loving human as an owner.

I used to never want an owner, I was happy as a puppy playing in alleys with big street dogs. They are the ones who named me for my speed. Crome was a rat terroir mix, he was goldish with green eyes. Clover was an Australian Shepard, she had the normal spots and blanket looking fur with bright blue eyes. Dusty was like the alpha, he was a Siberian Husky with a little wolf. They were my only family. We were all happy. Until they had been caught, or killed. My only friends...gone. I wasn't there when it happened so I was "spared." I was stealing food from the supermarket down the street. I remember clearly, I had a large loaf of bead, and some dog treats in a bag. I ran into the alley excited, but I dropped the food to the sight of Crome's and Clover's mangled bodies. Blood staining the boxes and bags and ground. I was mortified.

Since that day, I haven't felt anywhere close to the same. For the first week I just laid against Crome's body and the alley wall like I used to with Crome. I wouldn't leave for food, water, anything except to void my bowels. i finally grew so Hungry one day that i got up and wobbled to the sweet smell of meat.

One thing lead up to another, i knew i couldnt stay where the memories lied. But also where their killers are. I've been traveling, for days, weeks, months. I couldn't bare to stay there.
