Phil got up the next day feeling energetic, unlike he usually was in the mornings, and that was before the coffee he was about to ingest. He took a shower, brushed his teeth, and got dressed. He exited his room to find a half-awake Dan on the couch drinking orange juice from his kanye not mug.
"Good morning, sunshine." Phil chuckled.
"Ugh I'm not in the mood for cheerfulness right now. I just wanna morph into this couch and not come out."
"How late did you stay up last night?"
"Till 4 freakin A.M, but I did beat that stupid bowser level in Mario Brothers we'd been struggling with forever. Want to hear how I won?"
"Wow Dan that's so awesome! But right now I have to leave. Ta- Mary's gonna arrive at Starbucks soon."
"If you keep stuttering like that she's not gonna like you, ya know."
"I hate you, and I'm leaving."
"Have fun." Dan stated as his best friend confidently walked out the door.
Phil arrived at the popular coffee shop witnessing the woman he wanted to see standing right in front of the window. She was even prettier in person. He walked up to Tabitha and placed his hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!"
"You gave me a heart attack!"
"Tabitha I'm so sorry I didn't mean-."
She gasped, realizing who the man was."Oh Phil! I didn't even know it was you until now!"
"Looks like I've messed this up already, haven't I?"
"Not at all! I just wasn't expecting that." Tabitha started laughing, which made Phil laugh also.
"At least the tension is gone." Phil thought, relieved. "How about we head inside?"
"Sounds great!"
They got their coffee after waiting for half an hour in line. Now was the busiest time of day to order from there, but it was worth it. Phil and Tabitha had an incredible date. You could say they were the happiest people in London that Saturday morning. Upon finishing their discussion at their table, Tabitha said, "Aw Phil, I'm having such a wonderful time. I wish you didn't have to go."
"To be honest, Tabitha, I don't want to leave either. Let's do another activity together."
"Like what?"
"Well, I know of a museum nearby that may interest you. It's not crowded around this time of year."
"Yay! Let's go, Lester!" She exclaimed, arising from her seat and dragging Phil's arm to the door.
Going to the museum led to one adventure after another, which led to evening. Before Phil knew it, it was 8 P.M.
"Is that seriously what time it says on your phone?" Phil asked Tabitha, amazed.
"Yeah! I'm surprised too!"
"Thanks for telling me. I've tried to find my phone a few times, but I must've left it at home."
"No problem, Philly." She blushed.
"Philly?"
"Do you like when I call you that?"
"Maybe I do." He grinned.
Tabitha quickly turned away from his cute face.
"I should probably be heading back to my apartment. Dan might get worried about me."
"Makes sense. You haven't told him our secret, have you?"
"No, but how long is it going to be this way? I don't want to keep this from him.
Tabitha blew it off. "Wait a little longer until we work it out. It'll turn out fine in the end."
"How are you so sure?"
"Just trust me."
"If you say so, m'lady."
"Anyway, goodbye Philly. Is there something you might want to say before you go?"
Phil knew exactly what she wanted as soon as she asked that question.
"Maybe later, but I prefer waiting until it's right to say it."
"Why isn't it right now?"
He started to become uneasy as her piercing blue eyes stared into him.
"Um, well, you know, maybe we should discuss this some other time. Let's end this on a good note. See you later, Tabitha."
"Fine. Bye Phil."
The couple hopped in their cars and drove in opposite directions toward their accommodations. Phil could hear the disappointment in Tabitha's voice.
"Fine. Bye Phil."
What was he going to do? And how long would her identity be isolated from Dan?
