The Dead Among Us(BWWM)

The Beginning

"Ma did you get anything in the mail for me." I asked as I sat beside my Mom on the sofa.

"No Cayden sorry hun just these stupid bills." My Mom answered

I sighed, I have been waiting for my acceptance letter from the collage I want to go to. I have been out of school for four weeks now and I'm bored out of my mind other than having a part time job at my Dad's office  filing documents for him it's boring the rest of the day. I called up my friends to see if they wanted to hang out but all of them are busy with school or work even my best friend Danielle has school for a six months before we can hang out again, I sighed one last time.

" Don't feel bad honey there might be a bunch of  papers coming in and you're just somewhere in the middle." She said

" Yeah I guess, I'm going to go up to my room for a bit call me when its dinner time ok Ma"

She nodded her head with a smile,  I stood up I made my way towards the stairs then I heard a few helicopters going over my house,I found it unusual but I didn't pay it any attention and I just went to my bedroom and fell asleep.  After a couple of hours I got woken up by car going down the street fast and people yelling, I got out of bed and looked out the window my neighbors were rushing to get everyone and everything into the car and taken off without looking if another car was coming. I took a step back form the window and walked towards my door, before I reached it the door flung open and my Mom stood there with a horrified look.

" Mom what's wrong you look like you've seen a ghost." I asked

" C-Cayden j-just get a few clothes and help your dad in the kitchen get some canned food, don't worry everything will be ok". She said nervously

I approached her " Mom tell me what's going on please." I pleaded

She looked up with me tears in her eyes" Well the news said something about cannibals eating people in the streets and we have to get to the mall because that's some kind of  quarantine zone, so that's where going to go"

I couldn't believe what I'm hearing it's freaking zombies I don't know if I should be excited or scared. I quickly went into my closet and got out a duffel bag, my Mom look at me with a puzzled look when I opened the bag her eye went wide.

"C-Cayden what's this,why do you have all these guns !" She asked shocked

" Well I'm legally allowed to have guns and I was kinda prepared for something like this to happen." I explained

My Mom looked at me then back at the guns she shook her head seeming to not wanting to get into this right now , she told me to get some clothes and met her and Dad down stairs. I quickly put on some jeans, tank top with my favorite real leather jacket with a pair of running shoes, I threw most of the same clothes into a backpack ,I tied my hair into a pony tail and run down the stairs to met up with my parents. When I got down stairs I saw a few bags of food and clothes at front door, I went into the kitchen my Dad look at me then looked a the bag I was carrying. I place the bag of guns on the table I took out three pistols, two rifles, one shotgun,two suppressor, knives ,ammo and a katana for myself,my Dad was taken back but then he smiled.

" There's no doubt you're daughter."

" Haha yeah, anyways Dad you and Mom can both have a pistol, a rifle, a suppressor some knives and some ammo your gonna need it." I explained

" Wait wait why will we need these we're going to the quarantine zone the soldiers should be able to handle this and anyways I'm not killing another human being!"My Mom said angrily

" Well you do you really think that's gonna to work out Mom ,haven't you seen the movies you don't just.." I was cut off by my Dad

" Cayden what do you want to do." He sternly asked

I looked my Dad in the eyes " I'm not going to that place Dad ,I just can't it has death trap written all over it."

" Ok I see, fine you can take some food and be on your way then." My Dad said

" Micheal you can't be serious she'll die out there, you can't let her go!" My Mom pleaded

" Stacy I can't stop her she's old enough to make decision on her own now." My Dad turned to me " Cayden I may sound like I'm being a di*k right now but I'm serious you can go but I got to stay with your Mom and protect her you know the whole vow thing." He chuckled

Tears came to my eye and I ran into his arms, my Mom also started crying and my Dad brought her into the hug. We stay like this a couple of minutes.

" Mom Dad I'm so so so sorry I don't want you guys to be mad at me." I said

" Honey I can't stop you and I'm not mad I know you'll be safe out there without us." My Mom said with a smile

" Cayden you're my daughter so you're going to be a total bad*ss s I know that I don't got to worry about you." My Dad said with a smile

I smiled at them both " OK well I'll be head up towards Washington State near the cabins we stay in the mountains if anything happens please get out of there as soon as possible and meet me there it will probably take me about ten days to reach there but I'll say about 20 days depending one my bike, if you get there before me just wait around a bit and please don't help anyone but each other they're only going get you killed ok promise me this." I pleaded

They agreed on the plan, I put the guns, clothes and food into one bag and we went to the garage and opened it, they loaded up there car and I tied my bag to my motorcycle. We hugged for one last time, we all cried for a bit but promised that we'll see each other again. I hoped on my bike and started it up, I waved goodbye one last time and started the journey from Georgia to Washington State . I drove for a bit and came to the highway which was backed with cars, I checked around to make sure there wasn't any lurkers aka zombies and I went over to one of the cars and looked inside.

" Huh nothing useful, God no luck here anyone who was hear took everything a split"

I wandered around checking more cars I found two bottled water and two skittles bag. I continued to to search suddenly heard sound coming form the other side of the car, I took my katana form its sheath and walked over to the other side but there was nothing there but I could still her the noises.

" Where the f*ck is that noise coming form dammit"

The noise grew louder and louder but I still couldn't find where the noises coming form

" Am I going crazy, what the f*ck!!"

"Ahh" I sat up of the floor " I must have fallen asleep, I  wonder if there doing ok maybe I should go to that quarantine zone and check it out I'm not that far for it either."

Suddenly I heard the same noise I heard in my dream, I ready my knife and look around I saw that a lurker was at the window trying to get him I approached him slowly and stuck my knife in its skull it made a crushing sound going in and coming out. The lurker fell lifeless to the ground.

" Ugh never gonna get use to that sound , well better get my stuff ready I'll head for the quarantine and see what I can find, hopefully my bike well have enough gas to go and get back on the road for  Washington.

I got all my things together and hoped on my bike and headed for home I wonder if I'll run into anyone I know alive or dead.
