"Oh, shit," I mumbled as I trip over the concrete steps leading to my new dorm building. Everything in my hands spills on the ground including a few baby pictures I brought with me.

"Here let me help," offered a deep husky voice. He must smoke, I think to myself. "Is this you? Awh, adorable," he laughs as he shuffles through my baby pictures that slipped out of the boxes.

"Ahem...uh, yeah that's me," I respond, shying away as I usually do. I grabbed the pictures out of his hands as I quickly finish packing the fallen objects. I look up to find peircing blue eyes and a nice suit and tie meet my gaze. I clear my throat and look down to my feet.

"Hi, I'm Professor Reedus. I am the english professor," he says and reaches out a hand and looks back up at me. I find his eyes hypnotizing leaving me unable to look away. The teacher clears his throat so I know its been more than a few seconds.

My cheeks flush a bright red and I shove my clammy hand into his and mutter, "my name's Hailey, and I'm a freshman," I laugh softly at how embrassing I am. After an awkward pause I add,  "Yeah, uh my friends waiting for me inside, so I'm gonna get going. I'll see you around, Mr. Reedus. It was nice meeting you."

"Yeah I hope so, Ms. Hailey. Goodbye," he says and continues down the steps. I release a breath I had no idea I was holding. I walk up the stairs to the double glass door entrance into my new home for a year or two and force the thought of my new teacher out of my throbbing head.

"He sounds totally hot, Hailey. Good thing you're totally hot," my best friend, Bay sits next to me on my bed. She's my roommate. Thank God,  I think to myself. I can't imagine starting somewhere completely new, 5,000 miles away from my home without her. She pulls her long black hair into a ponytail and looks at me with her olive eyes, waiting for a response.

"Yeah, but Bay, he's our new professor. I'm sure he has a girlfriend and isn't it, like, against the law or something to date your teacher? I wouldn't want him to get in trouble..." I push my hair back and let out a frustrated sigh, "plus what am I even thinking? I bet he doesn't even like me! I'm a student, jeez  Bay what's wrong with me?" I finish with a laugh and get off the bed to get a powerade from the mini fridge we share.

"Nothing is wrong with you Hailey, you're just in love," she says winking at me and drawing out the "o's" in love. I playfully hit her shoulder and sit down next to her placing the bottle on the nightstand.

"I'm so glad you're smart enough to get into the same college as me," I shoot back. She glares at me but just laughs and hugs me.

"Hey, I'm gonna go walk around campus. Care to join me my lady?" she says and places her hand on her hip, gesturing for me to loop my arm through. I politely decline. I don't want to risk running into Mr. Reedus, even though I tell her the twelve hour drive here kicked my butt. "Alright you party-pooper, I guess I'll just have to scope out all the guys by myself...oh wait you have your eyes set on Mr.Reedus," she adds trying to hid her laugh.

"Whatever, just have fun and shut up about the whole Reedus thing okay? I'm still working on it," I sigh and shove her out the door.

I look at the clock that reads 6:30 and pull out my laptop, opening Netflix. This is totally lame, I think to myself, I should have gone with her. I pull the covers up to my chin and try to ignore the beating in my chest as the image of the man I met earlier replays in my head.
