The cold wind harshly blew dead leaves across the city of Los Angeles. A woman was carrying her bags of groceries hoping to return to warm atmosphere of her house. But as it was 7:00 pm, it was turning dark outside. A low but audible moan rang into her ears as she passed by what looks like an alleyway. She bit the inside of her cheeks as she cursed her curiosity. She dropped her bags by a bench attached to a bus stop and quietly walked to the location of the moan. The woman pulled out her smartphone and turned of the LED flashlight. What she saw was not a pretty sight. It was another woman that was sprawled onto the ground with blotches of blood all over her clothes. As she came closer, the girl on the ground looked about her son's age. "Oh no. She needs help." The woman looked around and realized that no one would help her out during the night.
She sighed and faced her palm toward the body. Light started to emit from her hand and magically the body started to float up and levitate a foot above the ground. As soon as the woman started to move the body also followed after. She casually walked out with the floating body and picked up her groceries and continued on to her house.

"Is she going to wake up?"
"Ms. Singleton, she's been asleep for two days already..."
"Hey Miss Sleepyhead, wake up!"
"Hush children, Byron is working on making her feel better."
The voices of children died down as a pair of hazel eyes opened up. "She's awake Ms. Singleton!" The hazel eyes looked around the room slowly to find children all over the bed she was on, a middle-aged woman, and a pair of glowing hands over her body that belonged to a man. A good looking man at that. The hands that loomed over stopped glowing and she sat up from her lying position.
"Well, good afternoon dearie! I know you just woke up so it's hard to comprehend all this but I'm Mel Singleton. You can call me Mel or Ms. Singleton." She gave a warm smile and extended her hand. "Do you remember your name? I found you unconscious a couple of days ago and I brought you in my home."
The girl with hazel eyes took Ms. Singleton's hand and shook them. She hesitated to speak at first, especially since her head started hurting the moment she woke up, but got the courage to speak up, "I-I'm sorry. I don't really...remember anything." The man that she saw with glowing hands spoke up. "Although I have cleared most of her wounds, it looks as though she has amnesia."
The children in the room made slight noises and gasps as they were surprised that amnesia was a real thing. "Ms. Singleton what are we going to do?" "Quiet down children. Why don't you all hang around and play in the arena?" And so the children sighed and left the room. Ms. Singleton looked back to the girl on the bed.
"No worries dearie! You just rest up and remember the little things one by one. I'll leave you in the hands of my son Byron. He'll be much help to you since I am a woman that is only getting older." She gave a hearty laugh which made the girl give off a small smile. As Ms. Singleton left the room, Byron, the supposed son, introduced himself.
"Hey, I'm Byron, the son of the lady you just met. If you have any questions just ask me. But for now, as it is a part of my job to take care of you, I'll have to tell you about your condition."
The girl only nodded in understanding.
"Well, let me just start with the condition we found you in. As my mother brought you home, you covered up with blood from new wounds and dark bruises here and there. Judging from the depth of the wounds, it looked like you were stabbed from a knife or some other sharp object. And judging from the bruises that are still very visible, you were hit with some type of stigma magic."
