Adeline Rose Scott.
I let out a long breath as I walked down the abandoned cement road.
It was never my intention on going to some lake house with some friends for spring break, if it were up to me I would just have stayed home snuggled in my oh- So warm blankets with a book in hand.
My Hazel eyes scanned the surrounding as I took a short break.
I pulled the white slip of paper out of the back of my black skinny jeans, that had the address on it.
And read:
Huntsville portlen.
I neat handwriting. I could obviously tell DJ had wrote it because Max and Marco have horrible handwriting.
I sighed and slipped the piece of paper back in my back pocket and started walking again.
DJ said her parents are letting her use their cabin by a huge lake, since they hardly go there anymore.
They said I would be nice to use it again but they were all ways busy.
I walked up in to a gas station I had seen just up ahead.
I walked up to the counter where a girl in her late thirties sat looking down at book while chewing on a stranded of blonde hair.
"Um...excuse me." I said smiling politely as my eyes wondered off looking around the small store.
"Do you need help with something?" The lady asked making me look back at her, her eyes growing wide as she stared at me.
"Um.. Yes, am I in Huntsville portlen?" I asked my smile becoming an awkward one as she just stared at me in shock.
"Adeline?" I said more then asked, and my eyes widen as well.
"How do you...." I trailed off watching as she set the book down.
"John!" She yelled her eyes never leaving mine.
"Yes Darling." A man said Pocking his head out of the back room, his eyes lingering on the lady before they trailed off to me and widen.
The man looked a little older then the women, but still young. His light brown hair damp with light sweat as he was probably fixing something in the back room when the lady called him.
"Dear God." He mumbled under his breath as he stepped out of the room wiping his hands on a dark blue hand towel before swing it over his shoulder.
"Adeline." He said causing my shock to increase. I was pretty sure I have never met these people before.
"I'm sorry do I know y'all." I said tilting my head slightly.
"No!" The lady said with slight panic but quickly covered it with a smile.
"We thought you were someone else." The lady said but her eyes said other wise.
"Are you su- I was cut off by the lady.
"Is there something you need?" She repeated her earlier question.
I shook my head slightly and smiled again a little awkwardly this time.
"Yes, well I was wondering if I was in Huntsville portlen." I said taking out the piece of paper verifying that it was correct.
"Yes, you are." The man said clearing his throat his shock suddenly replaced with awe as his golden brown orbs scanned my face.
"Oh thank God, I thought I would never get here. Thank you." I said and gave them both a greatful smile and sighed in relief.
"Where would a young girl like your self be going." The lady said as the man slid an arm around her waist in a loving way.
"A lake house that should be just up here." I said pointing in the direction I was heading before I came in here.
"Be careful, this town is no place for a girl like you." The lady said with a forced smile, but the thing that made chills run down my spine was the secret warning in her voice.
"I bet I can manage." I said in a jokingly tone.
"Just be careful Adeline." She said her smile was no where in sight making my brows furrow.
I nodded slowly and walked out of the gas station still a little creep out.
I shook it off and began walking again.
After awhile of walking I finally found the dirt road that lead to my destination.
I smelled as I saw Max back turned towards me.
I ran jumping on to his back immediately wrapping my legs around his torso.
"What the fu-" I cut him off with a slap to the head.
"Watch you language, Mister." I said in a stern tone making him chuckle and hold me up by my thighs with his hands after throwing his cigarette on the ground and stomping on it.
"What will it be madam, to the house or to the woods my lady." He said making me chuckle.
"To the house." I said pointing a finger towards the two story wooden cabin.
He started to sprint towards the house making me wrap my arms around his neck and clutching on tightly.
He ran into the house but didn't stop in till he reached a bedroom and he throw me on the bed making my hair fan out over the pillows.
"Your room my lady." He said and gave a slight bow.
"Thank you my good jerk." I said chuckling when his face scrunched up.
"Jerk?" He said more then asked.
"Yes, we could of fell down the stairs and you ran faster." I said getting off the bed.
"Ok, I get that." He said smirking.
"Are the others here?" I asked following him out of the room.
"Yes, Marco is watching TV and DJ is taking a shower." He said and slug his arm around my shoulder.
"So what do we have planned for today?" I asked walking down the stairs.
"Well first, we have to go into town and get everyone swim suits and a whole bunch of junk food, then we are going to come back and it should be close to night time were going to play night tag then come back to the house and watch scary movies and stuff our faces with so much candy in till we puck our guts out." He said with a solemn nod.
"Sounds... How do I put it... Awesome!" I said and high fived him.
"I know I came up with it." He said flexing.
"Hey Marco!" I said jumping on the couch next to him.
"Hey Ad." He said looking up from the TV, his blue hair slightly messy from running his hand through it so many times.
"Did you just get here?" He asked as Max took a seat next to me.
"Yup." I said and turned my attention to the TV that was playing a movie I didn't know.
