~Gwendolyn POV~
Waking up this morning was not one of my favorite moments. I've had better. I had three exams this morning and was up late last night studying for all three of them. Okay so maybe I wasn't studying. But I did look at the papers for a few minutes until I looked at my phone. YouTube is very addicting let me tell you. Lesson learned. Never blow a midterm exam your senior year of high school. Every single grade counts towards my college transcript and one F just might cost me the full academic scholarship I needed to go to Ohio State.
After pulling myself from my wonderful bed, I jumped in the shower real quick. Since I got out of bed late, I just ended up putting on some foundation and one coat of brown mascara. I grabbed my backpack and keys off the hooks by our door and walked out to my car. I would stop at Panera on the way and pick up some coffee and a bagel.
When I got to school, everyone was hanging out in the main lobby. And then I remembered something. It was assembly day. Normally Sabrina and I skip assembly and just hang out in the student lounge. Where was that girl? I pulled out my phone and dialed her number.
"Sabrina, where are you?" I practically shouted. The lobby can get so loud on days like this.
"I'm over by the restroom in the east wing. I'll meet you in the lounge." It sounded a lot quieter where Sabrina was. "There's this new girl coming today. I heard her name was Brooklyn. We should definitely try to meet up with her some time."
"Sounds good." I'm at my locker now and I'll meet you there." I smiled at the thought of a new student. I loved meeting new people, and as president of the Student Council, I took it upon myself to meet all new students and make them fell familiar with their surroundings.
I rounded the corner, and through the windows, I saw Sabrina curled up on the couch watching something on the TV. The Student Lounge was mostly like 4 living rooms connected to one main kitchen that everyone shared. Each year, the numbers 9 through 12 were put on little slips of paper and placed into a hat. The StuCo president (in this case it was me) was to pull a number out of the hat and place the grade level with each large room. The four rooms then shared a central kitchen where grades were allowed to hang out together. I personally think it's stupid for separating the grade levels when so many of us have relationships with people who are older or younger than us. That is one of the things I am trying to change as president.
When I walked into the lounge and saw Sabrina sitting on the big plush couch that was exclusive to the senior’s room. She was wrapped in a blanket that had our school mascot stitched into one side. She had the huge 80 inch TV on and was watching what I assumes was Criminal Minds, her favorite show. I didn't watch it on a regular basis, so I had no idea what was going on. My favorite shows are reality shows. I also kind of like HGTV.
"Sabrina," I was only to talk to her during commercial breaks, "Will you help me study for my exam next hour? It's a big one and I can't fail it."
"Awww come on Lynn," Sabrina whined," can I at least finish this episode? It’s so close to the end!"
"Fine, fine," I mumbled. No distracting Sabrina while she's watching her beloved TV shows. But being the best friend that she is, she relented and helped me study for a little bit.
The sound of my phone dinging came from the place I had tucked it in my boots. I pulled it out and saw that it was from Miller. Miller and I have been dating since freshman year, and as far as I'm concerned, he's staying with me.
Hey cutie. How come your little butt isn't in the seat next to me?!
