The rapid tapping of my feet resounded on the hard concrete. My breath was heavy as I tried to escape someone I never thought I would have to. I was running away from best friend, and desperately. The darkness of the alley lured me in as I hid. I heard the slowed footsteps that were chasing me come to a halt.

"I swear Thief X I'll get you! You just got away with luck this time!" The male's voice echoed as he walked away. I sighed with relief.

I walked through the now silent town, each footstep could be heard. Slowly, I climbed up the side of a house, it was large and blue. Knocking on the window, I waited for it to open. A young girl thanked me upon seeing my face. She smiled happily as I smiled along. The reason I was running, was for this little girl.  I am a thief, but I am not an ordinary thief. I am the best thief that steals what was stolen.

"Thank You Thief X!" The young girl thanked me once more. "No problem kid." I said, coolness in my tone. "Thief X!!!" The male's voice echoed through the night sky. Uh oh. "I gotta go kid." I said jumping from the floor, landing into a bush. I heard a branch crack underneath me, and my back was sore. Where did that branch come from? Hand on my back, I began my walk home. I was welcomed home but I grumpily made my way to my room. The two animals in my room ear's perked once they seen me.

"Good job Juli." My rabbit began talking. "Yeah, I bet you returned it with no problem." My hamster also told me.

It was already strange enough I was a thief, but I could also talk to small animals. Ignoring the two, I flopped onto my warm, large bed and buried my face in the pillow. It didn't bother me that I had so many weird talents. I only wonder why? Slowly, I fell asleep. RI--ING! The loud ringing of my alarm clock woke me up. It was Friday. My friends enjoy Friday, but I dread them. Well, that's only because I am a thief. I changed my clothes, brushed my teeth, pulled my hair back, and left the house. I didn't eat breakfast that morning because my brain was too groggy to care about it. At school I was greeted by my few friends, smile on my face, I sat in class near them.

"Have you heard Juli? That Thief X came back." Theodore, Teddy, Winston made a face, I laughed nervously. "Aw come on. You must have put in some fight." Darlece, VanillaBean, Kakerman said. "Yeah, or did you get beat by her so easily again?" Laughed my other friend Michael, Munchkin or Munch, Hollins. "Shut up!" The redness of Teddy's face showed his true embarrassment.

The four of us were the more rejected kids of our school. So we each became friends and have had fun relations with one another ever since we met. We each have our reasons for being in the rejected kids group. Theodore, he is average and nerdy, but everyone tends to find his obsession for catching thieves weird. Darlece, one of the prettiest girls I've met and always smells like vanilla, but constantly does unexpected things such as talk to herself, smells others, and even magic. Michael, we like to call him 'Munchkin' because of his enormous appetite but he doesn't gain too much weight, people also dislike how he's very nerdy. Then there's me. Juli Mackson, just the strange girl. My life is basically Thief X, which is a secret, so I constantly stare into space and act awkward. Also, a few months ago a popular girl caught me talking to my pets. Ever since then, we've been known as the rejected group.

"BabyCakes, what are you staring at?" Teddy asked me, I noticed I was dozing off. "Nothing! I'll go throw my lunch out." I became flustered, face hot with embarrassment, I waited for the day to end.

The rest of the school day I continue to stare blankly and think about my work. Strangely, the teachers didn't assign us homework. To others it seemed like a blessing, but for me, it made life worse. The time couldn't move slow enough. I stared out the window of my last class, the bell awaiting to ring any moment. BRRI-IINGG!! The loud bell rang announcing class ad school were over for the weekend. This is stupid. My futile thoughts filled my head as I walked home silently. Soon, I would see a note, get changed, then do extra work as Thief X. Though I hated it, I enjoy seeing the pleasure of each person receiving their stolen items again. I opened the door reluctantly, the house was empty. Walking into the kitchen I came across an envelop. It was full of letter's of lost items that Thief X was asked to attempt to find. Then a familiar name was written at the bottom of the last letter.

"Lillian Winston." I read aloud.

The girl whom I helped yesterday, she was also Teddy's younger sister. It was as if I walking into a trap, but I really like Lillian, so I decided to do her request first.

"A stolen glass cube?" I shoved the letter into my pocket. "Stolen...Stolen..?" I walked around, my senses wouldn't kick in. A bright light shone on me. "I have finally got you Thief X!" Teddy's serious voice came from behind the light. "What do you want?" I asked. "I want to imprison you! Bring you to justice." Teddy held out the glass cube, my senses perked.

I jumped out of the light, it chased after me. I continuously hid calling out my voice before jumping to the higher platform. Running behind Teddy I grabbed the glass cube, kicking his head, somersaulting to the area below.

"Why do you steal?" Teddy looked down to me, clutching his head. "Why? I am the adored Thief X!" I shouted to him, smiling, the ran off into the distance. I could hear his injured screaming.

Hurrying to his home, I returned the glass cube to Lillian. She smiled and continuously thanked me. I even ate some cookies she offered. Then, still as Thief X, I hurried back to where Teddy was. His injured screaming worried me. If he returned home, it wouldn't have worried me as much, but he didn't. I came across Teddy, he lied on the platform unconscious. It made me wonder how hard I kicked him. He wasn't as heavy as I thought, but it was still difficult to get him home.

"Another day's work as Thief X." I sighed and trudged down the sidewalk.
