I smiled widely at the thought of Daisy. Daisy, Daisy, Daisy. My doll.
I went to shower and stood under the water, my heart racing. I was really doing this. Tomorrow morning by eight we would be on a plane to our great escape. I was doing this diving head first without thinking about the consequences or problems I would get into.
After hopping out the shower and getting dressed in my boxers, hair damp sticking to my skin I roamed around the house one last time. Seeing everything and checking if I had all I needed for my flight. I did.
I had also sat down on the stool in my kitchen isle, the one that faced Daisy's house , and munched on some of the left over cereal. Some time around eleven forty a car pulled up to Daisy's driveway, it was her father.
I had placed the bowl in the sink, opening the host to fill it with water before I left to my room. The darkness of my room comforted me, giving me a secure feeling that nothing bad would happen. I smiled, letting out a sigh of relief when the whole room flooded with light.
A loud booming sound followed. It was raining and that only gave me a soothing feeling. I was anxious and excited, but the rain would calm me down. I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes in hopes that everything would turn out right tomorrow.
Just when I was about to let sleep pull me towards that endless slumber of the night a loud knock echoed down the house. I shot up, grabbing a shirt that hung on the back of my door and putting it on as I quickly made my way to the front door.
My eyes landed on the clock by the stove, twelve fifty seven. I opened the door and was shocked to find my doll standing in front of me soaking wet.
She pushed me inside and let out a cry of relief. Her hands were shaking and her eyes were wide.
"Daddy!" She squealed in fear, but before she could take a step or say anything else the tall figure of a man hit the back of her head. She let out a loud cry of pain, falling into my arms as I came face to face with her father.
"You bastard!" He roared at me, throwing a punch my way, but I quickly dodged it and pulled Daisy safely to my arms. "You've been screwing my daughter?" I took in a sharp breath, Daisy pushed herself away from me and ran outside.
"Daisy!" I rasped out, ignoring her raging father and following my doll.
What had happened? What was going on?
I looked at her house to find Daisy's sisters all lined up at their porch with desperate looks on them while one talked wildly on the phone. The rain immediately soaked me up, thunder ruling above us. I looked back to the street where Daisy was now being chased by her father.
"Daisy!" I shouted, charging at her father and tackling him. Both our wet bodies struggling against one another to see who would punch the hardest. I was desperately trying to get to Daisy, trying to push off her father.
He slammed me down on the hard concrete, groaning and shouting how sick I was. As he punched me, multiple lights blinded me and before I knew it police officers where tearing the old man away from me. I could hear him shouting how he would kill me with his bare hands as the other police officer tried to get me to focus on him.
"Sir, are you alright? Can you tell me your name?" I tried to look over his shoulder. Where was Daisy? "Sir please. Calm down."
"I'm calm!" I snapped. "Where's Daisy?" The police officer wouldn't have it. Asking question after question while I tried to look for Daisy in the wide road of our neighbourhood.
A loud scream and cry was heard and everyone stopped. Daisy stood in front of us all, her what I now noticed was a white gown was sticking to her skin making everything underneath visible and it only made me want to rush over to her and cover her from all of the men here.
"I-" Daisy started. "I can't." She cried, shaky hands raising a gun only alerting us all. The officer next to me raised his gun, the one next to Daisy's father realizing his was gone.
"Daisy. Please." I begged, my Adam's apple bobbing up and down as I anxiously took cautious steps her way. She shook her head at all the begs for her to lower the gun as she only cried harder, sobs escaping her pale lips.
"Daddy, I'm your best doll aren't I?"
In less than a second and before any other action could be done I felt my heart fall to the pit of my stomach only to later feel like shatter to a million pieces as the loud banging sound still rang in my ears.
I stared wide eye in front of me, my eyes following her body as it plummeted down to the floor with a dull thud.
I blinked slowly, staring at Daisy's body on the floor and then looking around me with a tense posture and shaky hands. I saw her father, he was on his knees while he held his head in his hands. The police officers were running towards her, speaking into their speakers ordering for an ambulance and backup.
I took a long deep breath in. It felt thicker, I couldn't really feel it in my lungs and my head was banging, a loud shrilling sound ringing in my ears. I closed my eyes and let out a small laugh. I'm just anxious and I'm dreaming. Tomorrow I have a flight to catch at eight in the morning and we'll be arriving at Scotland with wide smiles.
Daisy and I.
I nodded and opened my eyes slowly, just a stressful dream. Once I finally opened my eyes I found myself standing in the same place, both officers standing next to Daisy's body and a blood of pool mixing up with the rain. Daisy's father still holding his head in his hands, his shoulders now shaking.
I let my eyes wonder back to where Daisy was and I felt every organ inside me stop.
Daisy.
My Daisy.
My doll.
My doll was gone.
I actually wrote the last two chapters in the car and trust me the radio station was feeling this chapter's vibe because sad songs everywhere.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
The epilogue is next!
