Erin's POV
I waved goodbye to mum and dad one last time before boarding the place to California, my best friend Kyla next to me. We were both avid gamers, mainly playing Minecraft, and we both wanted to go to Minecon and other gaming events, but in New Zealand there was nothing, so we made the decision to move to California.
I got the window seat, which I wasnt too happy about, seeing that I wasn't good with heights, but I wasnt planning on looking out the window anyway. Kyla pulled out her iPad, and I did the same. As the plane started moving down the runway, I took my last look at New Zealand. I was certainly going to miss the sense of community you get with a small country. Sighing, I hoped that I had made the right decision about moving to California.
With no internet to entertain me, I soon fell asleep to my favourite band, All Time Low. This was going to be a long flight.
Kyla's POV
I smirked, seeing that Erin had already fallen asleep. Typical. I turned back to my iPad, playing Candy Crush half heartidly. I soon felt my eyes closing, and a minute later I was alseep.
"Kyla, Kyla! Wake up! THE PLANE IS CRASHING!"
I opened my eyes quickly, and scanned the plane. No one else was panicing, what? Erin started laughing next to me. Seriously?
"Gee, thanks for waking me up Erin. I thought the plane was actually crashing."
"Well I tried shaking you awake, but you kept sleeping. You left me no choice. I was going to say that we are nearly in California!" she said, trying to whisper but not being able to contain her excitement.
The plane soon touched down, and before I knew it, we were walking out of the airport with our suitcases, waiting for our taxi.
---Boring car trip---
I looked up at our apartment. It was huge, compared to the height of New Zealand's buildings.
"Wow" I breathed, Erin standing next to me in awe. We signed into the apartment lobby, getting our key and floor number. Number 23, the date of Erin's birthday. I walked into the lift, willing Erin to walk faster. Sure, I'm no fit, enegetic person, but how can anyone walk that slow? She finally walked into the lift and we waited to reach floor 23.
Erin's POV
I unlocked our new apartment and dumped my suitcase on the floor. I looked at the two bedrooms, before choosing the one closest to the kitchen.
"Kyla, I'm choosing this bedroom" I yelled to her, before flopping on the bed, not even bothering to get changed into my PJ's. I finally found a confortable position on the unfamiliar bed before falling asleep.
Kyla's POV
Unlike Erin, I was on my iPad, trying to create a map in my head of where everything was here. I noted some furniture shops down before trying to figure out why this apartment looked so familiar. I will have to ask Erin tomorrow I decided before too going to bed to get a good night's rest.
What am I doing in a strange room? Where am I? DID SOMEONE KIDNAP ME?????? Oh wait. Im in my new apartment. I rolled out of bed, and grabbed my Six Flags tshirt and a pair of jeans, before walking to the bathroom to brush my hair. Erin's door was still closed, so I knocked to see if she was awake. There was no response, so I assumed she was still asleep, so I decided to wake her up. We had a lot of things to accomplish today, and for once I was not going to spend the morning sleeping and waiting for Erin. I opened the door, but to m surprise she wasnt in bed. I saw a note on her bed, and walked over to read it.
Kyla, I am at the bakery I saw down the road. Im bringing back breakfast, you know I have to eat XD. ~Erin
