Suicide When I'm Not With You (Lawson Fanfiction)
"THANK YOU LONDON! YOU'VE BEEN AMAZING!" I jogged off the stage and turned my mic. off, handing it to the 'microphone man' as I like to call him.
"You smashed it Millie!" my manager, Katie, hugged me as I giggled.
I should probably introduce myself. My name is Millie, Millie Parker. I am a singer/songwriter but I am not that big, I can just about afford to do a few venues around England. This is the last venue of my little tour. I have recorded my debut album that I plan on releasing after 2 singles, but I feel like they won't do very well as not a lot of people know me but it would be amazing to see my music in the charts!
Katie, my manager, is my best friend. She is 25, 2 years older then me and is the best manager I could ask for. She works for Universal, a big management company that a lot of big bands and artists are signed to.

We pulled up in the car park outside the block of flats that I lived in.
"Thank you so much for everything, Katie." I smiled as we hugged and I got out the car.
"You deserve it! Now go and get some rest, you need to be ready for 10 o'clock tomorrow for the studio."
"Thank you, see you tomorrow." I smiled, closed the car door and watched as she drove off into the distance.
Despite coming from Liverpool, London was one of my favourite cities in the country, but obviously my hometown is the best. I love the people, they are all so friendly. Especially the woman who works behind the desk in Block C of the apartments there are here.
"Hiya!" I smiled at her as I walked into the lift, pressing the button for the floor I was on. Eventually, with a bit of a squeaky stop, the lift got to my floor and I stepped out. As I unlocked the door for my apartment, I started thinking about my life.
I am 23, no man, a few friends, a brother, a mum and dad who don't talk to me because I quit university for this job and this job means I hardly see my friends or family anymore. I gave up all the hard work I had put into my degree to be a history teacher to be a singer that might not even work out for me.
Does that sound crazy?
Maybe. I shut the door and walked straight into the bathroom, turning the shower on. I took my clothes off and got in the steaming hot shower.
I love showers. It's just a place that helps me get my head straight. It's like playing my guitar, I feel free.
I turned the shower off, the cold suddenly hitting me. It felt like I carried the cold in my bones. I quickly dried myself, tying my hair up in a bun. I ran across the apartment to my bedroom, finding a wooly jumper and leggings to wear. Grabbing my iPhone, I pulled the curtains too, grabbed my guitar before checking my twitter.
I liked to follow my fans back, they are like my family. Before I went off the twitter app, I tweeted: "@MillieParker: Amazing gig tonight! Thank you to everyone who came to the few venues I did, love you all x"
I decided to give my brother a quick ring, just to check up on him. At least he still spoke to me. His name is Jack, and he is getting married next year.
After 3 minutes, we said goodbye and hung up. I was about to start strumming on my guitar when my phone flashed. A text from Katie.
"Hey beautiful," it read. "Just to let you know, I will be picking you up at 10 o'clock for the studio in the morning as you already know, you are going to be joined by a few people. See you tomorrow, get some sleep. K x"
Intrigued, I replied :"Joined by a few people? Who exactly? Mx"
It was unlike Katie to throw in a surprise. She hates surprises so never has any planned. Anyway, if she did have a surprise, usually she wouldn't be able to hold it in.
*******
Katie never replied after that, however I knew she had read the text. She always does. I had fallen asleep on the couch that night, waking up at 1:45 am when I had fallen off the sofa and bumped my head on the floor. Then I went into my bedroom.
So... What do I wear? I ask myself that question everyday. I know I'm only going to be in a studio, but it's nice to make an effort sometimes.
After trying 3 different outfits, I decided upon light pink skinny jeans and a plain white, baggy t-shirt and white vans. By the time I had tied my hair in a messy bun, added make up and had breakfast it was 9:45. Just enough time to go and grab a coffee from Costa. Picking up my phone, purse and keys off the breakfast bar, I left.
*****
I sipped my coffee as Katie's car pulled up next to me as I waited in the car park. I opened the door, climbing in.
"Morning!" I smiled, awkwardly strapping the seatbelt around my body. Katie just laughed.
"What?"
"Nothing." She pulled out of the car park, focusing on the road.
It was silent for a few minutes, the radio played quietly as background noise. I watched the buildings go by, taking a final sip of my coffee before breaking the silence. "What was with all the weird texts last night?"
"What weird texts?"
"'You are going to be joined by a few people'? Do you mean producers?"
"No, vocalists. Well, a vocalist." All Katie was doing was adding to my confusion, so I decided to shut up and just go along with it.
I will find out soon enough, I thought. Besides, we are 2 minutes away from the studio.
*********
There was no one here. Just us. It felt kind of spooky. Usually, the drummer or someone was here. I usually recorded my own guitar and piano.
"Why is no one here?"
I put my coffee cup in a bin and my phone and purse on the table, looking around.
"They are 1 minute away."
"Right, I am beyond confused," I said. "Who am I going to be recording something with? Where is everyone who usually meets us here? Why are you in a very, VERY strange mood? And lastly, how am I meant to record a song when I haven't bought any lyrics that I have recently written?" Towards the middle of my rant, I started to raise my voice, but softened it again towards the end. All Katie was trying to do was be a good manager, and I owed her everything. I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for her.
"You really wanna know who it is?" She raised her eye brows and crossed her arms.
"Yes."
"Well turn around."
"Wh-?"
I turned around. No. I turned back to look at Katie, she was smiling. All I could think about doing was running up to her and giving her the biggest hug in the world because that's just how I felt.
Facing the 4 men standing by the door, I smiled.
I was going to be recording with Lawson.
