Jade

She's Still A Child

He reappears in an island, and

It's all green, her

Favourite colour. 

She must have been

The age of three, for

She was still so hyper active, so

Happy and

She was still so small. 

Even for he, he could not

Remember what it was like when

He himself was a 

Simple three year old. 

He flows down to 

Her, and makes sure that

No one else could be

Around. 

When he does, he

Takes her hand and talks

To her, like she were

His own child.

"How are you, child?"

He asks, bowing, like

A servant to his 

Master. 

She closes her mouth in

Shock, but begins to speak in

The tiny voice of hers.

"I'm fine, thank you," she barely

Says. "Who are you?" she asks, and

She looks up to him for

He was too tall for her to 

Reach.

"My name is Dave," he says, 

Bending down, to see her

More clearly. 

"I am Jade," she

Smiles, and looks at

Dave, like a

Daughter would look to 

A Father. 

Her clothes are yet, too

Big for her. 

"Do you like this island?" 

He asks, while looking at

The vast emptiness of it.

"Are you happy here?" Once

More, He asks. 

"Yes," she says, and

Her eyes don't seem sad. 

"My grandfather lives with me, and

My dog named Bec." Dave looks at

Her as if she were a doll, but

He refuses to say anything. 

"You are a child." He mutters, so that

She could not hear. "You are

The only one here." But when

He looks back at how 

Happy she is, he thinks

Maybe he was wrong, because

If this lonely island could 

Make such a child so happy, then

How bad could 

This isolation be? "Will you 

Stay with me?" she asks, and 

She tugs his long, red

Cape.

"It will be more fun, if

You stay here with me." That is

When Dave looks in her eyes, and

Realizes that they were

Too sad for him 

To see. 

"I cannot stay, my dear

Friend." He hesitates at the

Last word. He knows himself how

Dangerous that word can be. 

"Please, Dave," she says, 

"We can play all day long. I can

Be the princess, and

You can be a knight." 

He wraps his arms around her, yet

He does not know why. 

"I am already a knight," He says

Proudly. "But not for a princess, I am

A knight for a witch." 

"Does she need you?" 

She asks, and he won't

Respond.

"Does she need you? 

Does she know that

You are here?" He looks

At her, so determined to 

Have him, and he

Smiles instead.

"Yes, she does.

She knows I am here, 

She needs me more than

Anyone." 

"Where is she?" 

She asks, while she

Looks around but 

Sees no one but he. 

"She is not here.

She is somewhere else,

Somewhere I am 

Looking for." And he

Knows he shouldn't

Stay for long. 

"Are you leaving now?" 

She says and she

Looks quite sad. 

"Yes, I'm 

Leaving now." He

Refuses to look back.
