Angry Baboons

I am woken up from the feeling of fingers stabbing into my stomach simultaneously but I don't pry my eyes open due to the very comfortable bed I'm on but still, my hands try swatting away the hand. I was on a very soft, squishy, and warm bed feeling heavenly against very cold legs, and arms. Also because of the sun irritating my closed eyes making red the only color visible behind my eyelids.

"Hey wake up, we're here honey." I hear the faint voice of my mother as I groan in response to let her know I'm awake at to stop stabbing my lower abdomen. As on cue, she stops her playful assault but muffles her restraint giggle.

I slowly opened my eyes because of the very irritating light shining over my face, quickly covering my eyes when I realize my mother is shining a flashlight over my face.

"Stop." I groan once more standing up from the very comfy bed I was on meanwhile still covering my eyes with one hand and the other trying to rip the object from her evil hands for which my mother walked off laughing slightly.

I recover from the blinding light and I realize what I had assumed was a bed was actually just the jet seat just reclined.

My mother pops out from behind a purple velvety curtain with a Harley trailing her steps with the phone glued to his ear. We stand in awkward silence waiting for Harley to finish his call.

"Yeah, yeah. Okay. Bye." Harley says frustrated as he runs a hand behind his neck scratching it, a nervous habit I assumed.

"Okay so Athena, I've just called Ernest to come pick you up. Your mother and I need to meet up with our party planner. We'll meet you and Aiden in a couple of hours for dinner. Please make sure you both wear a decent attire." He said eying my choice in clothes before walking ahead of me to the jet door nodding his head to the crew members that were onboard with us, my mother and I following in suit thanking them.

"I'm sorry honey. I'll see you later." She says sending me a sympathetic look while caressing my cheek when we're off the stairs. Her hand drops back to Harley's.

"It's okay, you two have fun." I force a smile in between trying to get my hair off my face being whooped her and there from the annoying cold wind. Goosebumps rise on my skin.

"Ernest is on his way and will be here in a couple of minutes, five being the most. I'm looking forward to diner later."

He gives me a one sided hug releasing me from his warmth to go open the door for my mother in a red sports car parked right in front of us that in fact was a completely different sports car than of the one we had been on in Carolina.

I watch them pull away in the red shiny car that rode on the pavement smoothly. The wind whipped up my hair once more, this time sending it back over my shoulder and a tide of goosebumps rise. We must be near beach or ocean since its so cold and windy. The temperature change wasn't helping that I had shorts and a loose white tee on.

We were on a large terrain of black asphalt for which I assumed was made for the jet specifically. In the distance there was the huge house that was encircled by many blooming flowers of different shapes, sizes and colors. A pool was visible along with jacuzzi, a big area of basketball courts and a fairly bigger space for a house with windows but I couldn't tell what it was.

The field in between each space held well taken care of green grass with only a path of asphalt that led to the front of the house. I could've walked on my own to the house but thinking the possibilities of being mistaken as an intruder, I stay put watching the many men take care of the jet smiling at them when we made eye contact.

The jet was being pulled into a large garage that resembled Harley's mansion but slightly smaller reminding me of our ranch house. I wonder what he does anyway to get so much money. When a garage-like door opened, it revealed more jets inside for store.
