"Kat! Kat! Come on, you'll miss your bus!" My mother called from the kitchen.
"Coming Mom! I'll be down in a minute!" I hollered back.
I wanted to dress up today so I had picked out a plain green short-sleeved dress and a pair of light brown ankle boots. I reached for my other sock and put my boots on. I grabbed my favorite gold charm bracelet and walked out of my bedroom. I made my way down the hall and slid down the railing of the staircase.
"Kat," my mom rolled her eyes, "What have I told you about that? You won't be satisfied until you break your neck doing silly stuff like that." She said sternly.
"I know I know, having fun is dangerous," I replied with a smirk. She glared at me for a minute and then sighed.
"Here's the field trip form you needed me to sign," she said as she handed me the slip of paper.
"Thanks Mom," I kissed her on the cheek and made my way towards the door. "I'll see you when I get home, bye!"
"Bye sweetheart, have a good day at school." She smiled and watched from the porch as I walked down the driveway.
