She watched with an unwavering gaze, as a fiery red orb of light slowly sank beneath the horizon, and threads of light lingered in the sky, mingling with the rolling clouds, dyeing the heavens first orange, then red, then dark blue, until all that was left of the sunset was a chalky mauve, and then that melted away in turn as darkness took over the sky. Sequin-silver stars like the glowing embers of a dying fire winked down at me, illuminating the atramentous curtain of sky, and then suddenly the clouds parted, and Ginny had found herself looking at a lustrous, casting brilliant rays of moonlight onto the dark grounds.Small shoulders slumped down along the cool bars of an iron balcony. Thin fingers wrapped around the cool metal her red ginger hair fell past over the bars. Any passersby that stopped to see the scene would have a sight of a young girl would bright green eyes staring out to the clouds. Here, this was abnormal, here, this was a strange sight, here, is the girl we'll be following today.
Well, are you ready? No? Oh well, I'll let Ginny take over from here.

The sunset is beautiful today. All those pretty colors in one sky. It makes you wonder why. Why does the sky change color like that? Why doesn't it just go to night? Why doesn't it fade from blue to black? Maybe there's a science to it. I'll find out later at bedtime, Mama will tell me for story time.I went toward the kitchen, I want some of my pink lemonade that Mama always makes. She leaves it on the lowest shelf. I'm real short for a my age. I'm eight and I'm holding my chin up high at 4'7.
I heard a light knock on my door. I walked toward it, scurrying rather, they didn't like waiting.
I knocked three times, waiting patiently for the code. Five head thuds and two toes taps. I reached up to click the shiny lock that kept me in my castle room.
In hopped my three friends:
Sunny, Poppi's cousin, her eyes were a real shiny silver like my Mama's, they could blind anyone that looked too hard at em.
Poppi, my bestest friend in the whole world. She had really cool long black hair that could act as a rope.
Ana, she had a sweet voice like honey it was calming and she told the best stories. Not sure if they beat Mama's but they're cool.
Poppi hugged me real tight like she always does. Then she clapped her hands to start the meeting. She was nine years old, so she was the leader, and she lived down the block in a pretty house but she was there all alone. She had no mama and no papa, and that was of course very nice because there was no one to tell her to go to bed just when she was having the most fun, and no one who could make her take yucky thick liquid when she much pre-ferred caramel candy to cure her stomachache. Poppi had a brother though. He worked as a real tough inventor she says. He fixed things for people. Working all day long.
"Alright, let us begin the meeting of the Bloody Mary's." We began our chant.
"Bloody Mary's! Bloody! Bloody! Bloody Mary's!" Poppi started her leader cue, she looked toward Ana.
"One." She tapped Ana on the head.
Ana brought her eyes to meet Sunny's. "Two." Ana tapped Sunny twice on her shoulders.
Sunny turned to me. "Three." She tapped my knees three times.
I finished the circle with four taps to Poppi's toes. "Four."
We all held our hands together, brushing our thumbs lightly against one another's hands.
Poppi spoke first as usual. "Now, first order of business Mary's, where we're exploring tonight. Any ideas?"
Ana went up to Poppi first. "How about that old factory, over on the corner of the woods? I saw some pretty flowers growing through the bricks now." Ana sounded pretty proud of her plan.
