So quick disclaimer: I wrote this when I was like 15. So I'm rewriting EVERYTHING. I'm just someone who loves Love. I'm a hopeless romantic so I hope you enjoy this version better. Love SM.

Selene POV

Selene closed her eyes and screamed.

She open her eyes after a minute of screaming into the night. It was a pretty night, as redundant as it was, the stars sprinkled around the sky surrounding her old friend the moon.
With sigh she sat knowing her shouts would come to nothing.  No matter how loud she shouted, her voice never truly carried much weight. Her thoughts wandered to the events that led her to come to her secret place.

She was a woman. Whether she was a goddess or not. She was a woman. And a woman had to have a husband.

Selene felt drained in a way she didn't think possible. Centuries of feeling this way took its toll. The arguments with her uncle and especially her aunt were causing her to get a migrane. She wanted love in her life. She wanted to marry for love. And as silly as it was, and regardless of her immortality, she wanted a love to last the rest of her days.  So when her uncle arranged for her hand, she knew those ideas were shattered.

Her eyes looked around the spot she was in. The place was of legend, her aunt Hera's famous tree of golden apples. The tree itself was in a small island in the middle of a pond. It wasn't the actual color of the apple that made this tree a legend. The apples themselves could cause one of two things: Immortality or death. Selene watched as they shined prettily from the stars light. They had the beauty of a snake's scales, but just like a snake ,it was not meant to be picked up and dallied with.
Selene recounted all the times she would see mortals go through quests to find this place. How sure they were going to be immortal like the gods and ended up poisoned by the apples. Truly it wasn't the apples themselves that were poison. It was the mere thoughts of mortals that lead them to foolish things. They entertained the thought that they could do it all. And that is more poisoness than any golden apples. "Wishful thinking." She thought.
At the same time, she could not help the feeling of envy that rose in her. She wanted that wishful thinking. The thought of hope and a better tomorrow. To simply dream.. She snorted at that, "that seems to be wishful thinking." Her eyes went from the tree to sitting closer to the ponds edge to stare at her reflection. She looked tired. And utterly alone.

Pan POV

Pan watched his silver eyed beauty from a far and he felt his heart ache for her. He recognized he was the cause of her ache, but he couldn't go another day without calling her his wife.
He loved Selene with all his heart. He watched her grow, and mature and become the most beautiful goddess. She was like no other. Truly a diamond.
He recognized she was a stubborn woman. A wild untamed thing with the attitude of a wild wolf.

Pan remembered begging Selenes uncle, Zeus, to let him take her as his own. Promising that nature will help provide for the mortals. That he will expand and help the earth grow healthy and thrive and keep the dangerous and wild things of nature at bay. Zeus had always begged him to join the other gods and goddesses to improve their way of living and the lives of  mortals.  More sacrifices, less monsters, more glory and fame. Of course they needed him, he was Pan, god of the wild. But he didn't need them.
What he needed was Selene. The most wild thing he could think of. And he loved her. Her passion and attitude drove her to be out of the ordinary. And her sweetness and beauty was nothing he had seen before. He knew how insecure his beauty was about herself. But he knew that she was a flower among weeds. The gods and goddesses were selfish things. Sour like limes and bitter like tart. Not his beauty. She was different. Pan gazed at Selene and felt his mouth water. He hadn't noticed his love had stripped her dress off and was swimming in the lake to hide her tears and to get rid of her anguish for a while. Her back turned and he looked at the silver markings on her skin. Lovely designs that added to her beauty. Her long curls clinging to her soft caramel skin. He wanted to run his hands through it and feel that skin on his. She was swimming below a couple branched of the golden apple tree. He couldn't help himself, he had to have her. he rose to go join and speak to his love when a snap echoed and a mortal fell from the tree and on top of his beauty.
