Really important talk time:
I think I am going to attempt Nanowrimo. I'm very busy, and I probably won't make it, but I'm going to try hard. The problem is, I have a number of ideas. I need my followers (even if I don't have many) to help me pick what to work on. I'm going to ask on my wattpad (themangopirate) too.
-Paper Dragon: There is a young girl who has a very special gift. Anything Mia touches that is in the form of something living, be it an animal or a creature or anything in between, comes to life. The sad reality is that it's only alive for as long as she's touching it, and will return to it's state when she releases her hold. When a neighbor boy, Aiden, starts to notice, eh's sucked into her world. He finds out about how she got the gift, and promises to keep it secret. Then things start to change. Her gift becomes less reliable, his father's health declines, and soon both of their families are in turmoil, and they'll need all their strength to return things back to normal- if they can find out what went wrong in the first place.
Pros: I have the basic plot all lined up. I know the ending and have a good idea of how to begin.
Cons: It'll be hard to move on from the beginning. I'm unsure of how to line things up so that the more climactic scenes won't come too early.
-Ladybug Ashes: Modern-day Marie-Anne Coccinelle's family and home burned down when she was young. This story will follow her through her mind, her life, and her growth as a person. She begins to have flashbacks of a life she never knew, and a time long ago. All is not well with Miss Coccinelle.
Pros: I know what I want to do with the ending. I have characters mapped out.
Cons: Pacing will be a problem, as will creating suspenseful moments.
- (Title in Progress): Everyone on Earth has a soulmate. All soulmates try to find each other before death, but that's not always possible.The one soulmate who dies before it's time becomes a Guardian to their soulmate who's alive. This story will follow a man named ____, who has died and become a Guardian. he doesn't mind not being able to hold his loved one, as long as she lives a happy life. But there are other Guardians- restless ones, who want to kill all the living people who's soulmates have died, so that they can be together again, and suddenly, ___ is unsure of who's happiness would be better.
Pros: I'm pretty good with mystical-type writing.
Cons: I'm not as good with romance, but I could still try.
-Quintessence: Quintessence, better known as Quint, is a seventeen year old on the planet Janus, a twin to Earth that's thousands of light years away. Civilization has only been on Janus for one hundred and fifty years. The only difference Janus has from Earth is that the air on Janus sparks creativity. Art has been lost for ages, as pictorials can render anything and everything in any art form you could long for. The art of acting was lost in the travel to Janus, and because of limited room on the interstellar ships, they brought no musical instruments. This means the air filters into minds and activates verbal creativity- writing and speaking, novels, novellas, poetry, short stories- all sorts of everything. Authors and speakers are held in the highest regard on Janus, and are allowed to breath unfiltered air more often then the civilian population, who is only allowed to breath the unfiltered air once every two weeks, as that's when the air filters need to be changed. Quint wants to be an author with all her heart. There's just one problem- even when she breathes the pure air, she feels no spark. No boost of blessed creativity. But that doesn't stop her from entering the writer's academy- though it could mean failure, and a life spent in changing the air filters. Her only hope is that the air will bless her mind, and help her through. But even that hope is small...
Pros: sssccciiieennnccceee ficcccttiiiionnnnnn. I have Quint's personality all mapped out, as well as society on Janus.
Cons: Pacing and keeping interest- aka I need to figure out half of the plot aside from the above.
