Night is safe

When both Julian and Josephine were asleep I crept out of the house and left the note "Scavenging for clues, will be gone for awhile.". It was 2 in the morning and the streets were quiet, it was just me and the streetlights, I soon found out that when you are alone your mind takes over you. The streetlights are so elegant and beautiful, why didn't I ever notice that? A big voice in mind announced, it was true- everything was more beautiful by night. I liked the calm and tranquil atmosphere. I was heading for Granny's house, I would not bother her but leave her some clues in the garden under my favourite, tree, she was bound to find it.

I had brought a big cardboard box that I had brought from home this afternoon, it had markers, pencils, pens, scissors, tape, a photo album, sticky notes, an Instax camera, and stamps. Once I got to Granny's house I climbed the fence to the garage and went straight to the garden. It was odd, the light in the house was still on! I could see a blurry silhouette of a man a woman and an old person, probably my mom, dad and Gran.
"Hey! Who's there? Don't you here that, babe? Somebody is there, I bet it's Sasha. She's probably will beg us for mercy to let us in." Now, I was scared, I could scarcely breathe, I was in a right old pickle now. If I didn't move, I would be discovered. If I moved I would've been found later. I chose the second option and dashed into the bushes, without stopping I got to my favourite tree and started digging. I scribbled on a sticky note the address of Julian's house in the language Portugese using my phone and the handy google translator. Next I put down a paper I had printed in Julian's house, it was an adoption paper.
I heard heavy foot steps and quickly stepped into the bushes.
"The little [bad word] is probably hiding in the bushes, I am gonna search." My dad huffed. I gripped the shovel that my smart Gran had left, she probably knew I was going to attempt to dig up something so she had left it on top of the bushes. Nobody would have suspected anything! Seriously, I wondered if my gran was a psychologist in disguise! At the right moment I put on the hood of my jacket and stood up. I wildly swung the shovel onto my father's face. He screamed and cursed before he fell flat on the ground. Based on the volume of his scream, I knew my mom was going to come out soon. I threw the dirt on top of the paper and took the shovel, I couldn't leave any evidence of his assault. I jumped onto the bushes, stretched one of my arms onto the ledge of the wall, and hauled myself up. Now I was standing on the top of the wall and the distance from the ground seemed an awfully long ways. I didn't have a choice my mom was nearing, I had to jumping. So I shut my eyes, threw the box down, so I had to go down and get it and forced myself to move closer and jumped. While in the air I felt the swift whoosh of the wind, another second and BUMP! I was on the ground.
My head throbbed, and my limbs were sore, yet I had to keep going. A stray cat from the middle of nowhere leapt on me, it's claws shining in the moonlight as they dug into me. I scrunched up my face, willing myself not to scream. The next thing I heard was "Good job Nightprowler!" It was just a whisper from the top of the ledge, but I knew this voice was my mother's. I ran like all hell was loose on me (well actually wasn't it?), I tumbled onto the concrete ground of the pavement, I was not on the other side of my Gran's house. I heard a shout from the house that I had jumped into (well, I was in the lawn). I could hear the shouting of man and my mother's voice whimpering. This man had obviously found an intruder, and had thought that she was a robber. I was scared out of my mouth now, if he found me he would think I was one too. All I could do was run with the cardboard box and shovel.
I was running for the third time today.
