Chapter one

ERIN POV

I was seated at a table in my favourite restaurant in London. I really loved it because it was really small and calm. I was working on the lesson I was going to teach to the little kids I babysit every Wednesday. I teach them French because I love this language and I think it's a great opportunity to learn it at such a young age. I heard the door which means someone was entering and it really surprised me because usually, nobody really comes at this hour, that's why I come. Anyway, I watched who it was and a young guy, maybe 20 caught my eye, he was tall, with brown scruffy hair and big brown eyes. He looked at me a few seconds. He was in company of two men who seemed older than him but they seemed to have a good relationship because they were laughing all the time. They seated at the table next to me. All the time that they were here, I was only focused on my work but then, I saw that the two men who were with the young guy left while he was still here. He came in front of me and started talking to me.

- Hey, I don't usually do this but I think you are really pretty so I wanted to tell you.
- Aw..Thank you. 
- So..What's your name ?
- Erin and you ?
- Shawn. I love your name by the way.
- I love yours too. Where do you come from ? Your accent is not English for sure.
- You're right. I'm from Canada.
- Wow, I always wanted to go there ! What are you doing in England ?
- I just love travelling. With my friends that you probably saw. 
- Interesting. 
- Yeah..Sorry if I disturbed you.
- It's okay. You did it in a very gentle manner to be honest.
- Cool. So what are you doing with all these papers ? 

SHAWN POV

Wow. When I saw this girl, I felt something in my stomach, so strong I can't even describe it. It seems like she didn't recognize me which is fine. I just had to lie because I couldn't tell her I was on my world tour. It's not that I don't believe her but I don't want her to use me because of my notoriety. It happens a lot that girls try to chat up with me just because I'm Shawn Mendes and not because of who I am apart of my career. We talked for maybe one hour and the guys went back to the hotel without me. Now, they can't stop asking me questions about "this girl" as they called her even if I told them her name was Erin. We exchanged our numbers and we talk on WhatsApp. 
- You know you can't start a relationship, Andrew said.
- There is no relationship right now. We are not even friends, we just want to talk and we'll see.
- You said you were travelling !
- It's not really a lie.
- But it's not the truth, Shawn. You are famous, you have millions of fans all around the world, she will find who you really are.
- I know what I'm doing right now, don't worry, okay ? Ugh..
- What ?
- She asked me if I can go out tonight..
- Just tell her you're performing. Wait, you didn't tell her you're a singer, sorry.

I didn't answer. I know I can't lie to her but I had to. I hope she will understand when she'll find out. I hope she won't find out until I tell her. I should have told her. Too late.

- Can you go out tonight ?
- Only after 11pm.
- Wow. Do you have another date before ?

Date ? DATE ? Does "go out with her" mean a date ? My heart is beating so fast right now, what is happening ? I need to calm down.

- No, I just have something planned with my friends but if you don't want to see me, it's okay.
- No no no..It's okay. Where do we meet ?
- At the restaurant ?
- Okay, see you there.

I couldn't think of anything but her during my rehearsal. I was also thinking of what Andrew told me, and I couldn't fool myself. Even if I wanted to spend days with Erin, I knew deep down within myself that it was impossible.

ERIN POV

11 pm. I'm at the restaurant, wearing a beige t-shirt, black jeans and a pair of boots. I really wanted to make it simple because that's how I dress everyday. Shawn entered, breathless, he maybe ran because he was late. I asked him how it was with his friends (nice), and if he loved London (absolutely!).

- So where do you want to go ? I know London inside out.
- You told me you live here, right ?
- Yes, with my little sister, Adele, she is 13. My parents are in America, they have health problems so they can't take care of us. I came in London two years ago, I found a job and I go to the university. I really love this city, I will never get enough.
- I love London and its atmosphere. I feel good here. Unfortunately, I leave soon.
- When ?
- Tomorrow night. I go to Lisboa.
- Lisboa ?! Wow ! You are so lucky, I would love to travel a lot like you. 

While we were walking, some girls looked at us strangely but Shawn didn't seem to notice. We ended up in front of his hotel and we had to say goodbye. It was really weird, he told me that he wanted to see me again but he will go home after his journey in Lisboa. I tried to hide my sadness because I wanted to remember these farewells as an happy scene. We hugged each other and I came back home.
The next day, I worked all the time to get Shawn out of my head. He didn't text me, me neither. I cooked in the evening for my sister and me. She was in her bedroom so I knocked on her door, opened it and told her :
- The dinner is ready.
She was listening to music on Youtube and the voice of the singer immediately hypnotized me, it was so calm, so relaxing, and the lyrics were beautiful ("We don't have to be ordinary, make your best mistakes.."). Somehow, his voice reminded me someone but I couldn't tell who.
- Who sings ?
- Shawn Mendes ! I love him, all my friends listen to him and I honestly fell in love with his voice..

She turned to me and I saw the computer and the face of Shawn, he was in a restaurant, writing a letter and he was singing. I closed the door violently, I couldn't believe it. Shawn Mendes, really ? I was in a state of shock.
