● C H A P T E R 11

Aiden;

Eight months later

I was sitting in my office when my office phone rang. I put it on speaker and waited for the voice to speak.

"Mr.Reynolds your father wants to speak with you. Want me to put him through?"

"Did he say what is was about?"

"All he said was that it was an emergency and to answer your next question no it doesn't sound like an actual emegency."

I sighed.

"Put him through."

I waited for the line to click over and when it did my fathers gruff voice blared through the speaker.

"Hey son, how are you?"

"What do you want?"

"Straight to the point I see. Well I would usually do this task myself but since my knee injury I can't do it anymore. You would have to go around the world for three years and direct our new foreign  workers on how our conpany works. There are six new facilities  so you will spend about four months each. "

"Well the baby is close to its due date so i have to-"

"You won't leave until next year anyways just telling you because its a really big favor."

"Not really, I get to travel with Rae and the-"

"You can't bring them. You aren't like me son, you get distracted very easily when it comes to her. I know she puts you in your place and you love her and all but I need you to cut contact with her for these three years."

"But my baby, and I haven't even proposed yet. What if she moves on, I couldn't live with that ever."

"She won't move on, she loves you and you love her but I need you to do this for the company. "

He hung up and I placed my head in my hands.

Three fucking years without her. I won't even get to see my baby grow up and hear its first words or see its steps.

I felt myself begin to sniffle but it stopped when I saw Rae name pop up on my phone.

"Hey Rae what's up?"

She didn't say anything I just heard her scream bloody murder. Thats when I knew she was going into labor.

"Rae calm down, I'm on my way. "

"This shit fucking hurts, I don't think I'm going to make it."

"Don't say things like that."

I started to pack everything up and quickly ran to Marilyn office.

"Come on she's going into labor."

She quickly got up and started to pack up. I rushed out of the office when I heard her say my godbaby is coming. I chuckled until I heard Rae scream again.

"Aiden please hurry, I want this kid out of me."

"Im hurrying I swear."

I got into my car and drove quickly to our condo. I opened the door and she was in our bedroom getting dressed.

I ran into their and saw that the bathroom mirror was foggy.

"Did you really just take a shower?"

"Aiden, its not the time for your dry ass humor."

She bent over and held her stomach. I quickly grabbed her bag and she slowy but surely walked behind me.

"Jesus christ, the baby going to pop out on the carpet if you keep moving this slow."
