 PROLOUGE

I feel the cold air run through my skin, making me shiver. The smooth grass that holds my hands trying to make me feel better. And the sound of the leaves in the trees that helps me to hold back my tears. But I can’t help it... I run my fingers through his stone grave and follow the lines that are there...

                                  Rest in peace

I…I don’t understand why did this happen to me...to us. I’ve always been a good gir, I do all the things my parents told me. Even if sometimes I’m against it. What did I do for them to do this to me? All the things I’ve done for them, aren’t they enough? I’ve never ask for anything. Why don’t they just be happy for me?

“I’ll miss you chael...”

I close my eyes and wish that maybe...just maybe this is all a dream. That when I open my eyes, I will see him lying beside me. But that’s not what happened. Because when I close my eyes, I see it all goes back. the time that I met the person who make me believe that...

My heart can skip a beat.

FIRST BEAT

“Hailey come on! Don’t be such a nerd... it’s going to be fun.”

I rolled my eyes at my best friend Janice. She keeps on bugging me to go in the club tonight... i run my fingers through the books on the shelves... yes, were currently here in the library. I’m teetotaler you know...

“shhhh… Janice don’t shout. “

“But you’re so annoying...”

I giggled. Can somebody tell my best friend that I’m not a party girl? I mean, it's better to just lay in your bed and read novels than go out there and be wild...

“No I’m not...you know that I d- -“

“I know! And don’t tell me you didn’t enjoy the last time you went there...”

She was right...i’ve done plenty of clubbing before. And yes, I had so much fun... to the point that I became so hyper and tipsy and I go like…a very wild girl I think. And im kinda embarrassed about that.

“yeah youre right I had fun but.. im so embarrassed because of that.”

“what? But you’re so cool! The way you sway your hips on the dance floor and oh!you should’ve seen how those boys drool over you..”

Actually I saw that.but they scare the shit out of me so.. I just ignore them..

“yeah right..do you know how much that scares me? They were  like ripping off my clothes in their mind.”

“well you can’t blame them hottie..”

“err.stop with that ‘hottie’ thing. .”

I get the book that I need from the shelf and walk past her. I actually want to go but there’s a part of me that keeps on telling me not to ..i feel janice’s presence behind me.

“honestly hailey, you totally need to go out there and have fun.”

I sit on the table and observe the people inside the library. 98 percent of them were people with typical thick glasses in their eyes. Well there’s nothing new about that. Janice sit in front of me with a pout in her lips. I open the book and level it in my head to block janice’s face.

“hey..”

She pulled down the book in my hand and look at me.. why is she so desperate to bring me there?

“…why don’t you try to take a break from those thick books and go have fun?”

“why reading is fun.. you guys just don’t appreciate it.”

“naah.. hailey why are you such a very good girl? cant you be a little bit naughty?”

I close the book and look at her..

“why do you want me to go?”

“well you see im going to meet someone and I kinda need someone to you know.. be there with me.”

Oh..so that’s why she wants me to go.

“seriously Janice? “

“yeah..please hailey..”

“okay fine but before I go with you, give me 10 reasons for me to come with you.”

She took a deep breath.. I have this feeling that I have no choice but to come with her.

“first, I don’t know him that well so I don’t know what he might do.. second,I maybe drunk or tipsy so no one will drive me home. Third, he might ra- -“

“okay okay.. I’ll go with you. “

“yaaaay! Thank you so mu- -“

“shhhhhhh!”

The librarian shoot us a glare and we notice that almost everyone in the room is looking at us… With an annoyed look in their face. I murmured ‘sorry’ and pull Janice out of the library.

“so I’ll pick you up at 9? “

“hey don’t forget to tell my parents that youre going to bring me to a club tonight.. “

“I know, I know.. well you see your parents love me..”

Yes. My parents love her.. I don’t know why. But they trust her so much. Maybe because of their impression towards her..

“I know that..”

“oh gosh im so excited! Wear those clothes that will leave  their mouth open okay?”

She winked at me..  I look at her with a disgust look.. I mean, I know what to wear.. im not a nerd. I just love reading books. And well Im a good girl.

“shut up Janice..”

She just laugh at me and went to her practice. Shes a cheerleader.. a very wild cheerleader. I took a deep breath and went to my locker.. i guess this is going to be a looong night.
