Long ago, before Earth was born, there was a small planet named Kyoua that was not unlike it. Actually, it was quite similar. The main difference was the beings that lived on the planets. Earth is filled with humans and animals, invertebrates and vertebrates, but Kyoua is filled with Kyouian gods and goddesses, and the unusual creatures that worshipped them. The creatures had no one true form. For one half of the time, they were like ghosts, a deep, visibly haunting fog. On the other hand, they had a solid form when they wished to be it. Each creature had a designated solid form, sort of like a human's body.
Now, these creatures had feeling and emotions just as humans and animals do. They can feel pain, suffering, love, jealousy, sadness, and rage as well. The gods and goddesses were always in solid form. They were breathtaking creatures, truly. Their apparent flawlessness brought whomever was blessed enough to be in their very presence down to their knees.
A particularly beautiful goddess named Atsuko, the Goddess of Nature, was in a cheerful mood on a crisp, Summatian evening. Summatia is the name the Kyouians have for a season that was similar to one on Earth called Autumn.
The goddess's light green eyes peered out the window, gazing at the scenery. Her Caucasian skin glistened as the dull moonlight shone on it.
"My husband," she said quickly to Aden, her spouse, "alas, the beautiful colors outside are changing, and it has become colder. Therefore, I shall take advantage of the harvest and go out to the Garden to choose some ripe herbs and vegetables to cook a warm, pleasant stew tonight."
Aden's long, dark arms drew her in to a tight embrace and softly mumbled in her ear, "What did I do to deserve such a wonderful wife?" Atsuko smiled happily. "I know, I shall accompany you to the Garden," he said. "We will go together."
The blonde goddess took him by the hand, and headed for their garden, the place they- as if by fate- had both stumbled upon deep in the woods one day. It was place where they had first met.
They stepped out of their spacious palace, molded with the finest gold and diamonds their people could mine. It was the demand of the couple that their home be made out of nothing less than the best.
The two lovers traveled along a dark gravel road. Aden slipped his stone-cold hand into his wife's gentle, soft one as they strolled merrily along. Into the pavement, the outline of wildflowers was molded by the most adept craftsmen around.
Atsuko laughed as they neared the end of the road and turned to Aden. "Catch me if you can!" she chimed while swiftly dashing away.
Aden graciously accepted her childish challenge, and they frolicked down the path, the wife always in the lead. She was slender, quick, and youthful, while her husband was bulky, muscular and somewhat grizzled. He had jet black hair with a few silver streaks in it. An odd pairing that looked about as similar as black and white socks. Despite their differences, they loved each other dearly. In fact, they believed that the very things that separated them brought them closer, for they kept their lives more exciting.
"Here you are, loves. Wouldn't you like some, too? Come get it, then," came a soft soprano voice that seemed to emit from around the last corner Atsuko and Aden would have to turn.
The couple stared at each other. The Garden, as they called it, was hidden in very remote location. It was rare to have anyone there.
"The poor maiden must be lost," Aden whispered. "Why don't we help her find her way home?"
Atsuko nodded solemnly in agreement, although she wasn't quite sure it was the best choice. She relied strongly on her 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' policy. This girl could be dangerous, for all they knew. At first, even a succubus seems to be harmless and sweet. This may very well be the same type of situation.
