I have always been alone. My parents never accepted me. They have always seen me as sick. I'm not the happy, bright, smiling daughter they wanted. Instead I cry, see things, and get depressed. What did they do with all of that? They sent me to Red Bay mental facility; claiming it would be best for everyone. All they care about is how they look to their rich friends. They cannot have mistakes like me around so I am here.
"Time to see you're therapist. " Not even the nurses care. They don't bother to learn our names. All they do is give us Meds and tell us where to go. Regardless I better go before they drag me to, only to recite who I am.
"Please recite all personal information you remember from the first time you where here." Like I have a choice, if I didn't do this it would be re-education. " My name is Scarlet Denis Benson, height of five-foot five inches, blue eyes, red hair , age 17, and I've been here for 8 years. " I watch as he stamps the approval for this month., and motions for a nurse to bring in my pills. Of corse I take them like a good pet. " How have you been feeling?" I want to lie, say I feel great but they always find out about the lies. " Depressed, I've been depressed. " Why do they wright ? I am a human being not a test subject. Can't I be talked to normally? "Why are you depressed?" Like you don't know. " My parents dumped me here when I was nine, they don't wright, visit, or try to be parents. I don't even have friends here." Finally he sets the stupid pen down, but with a look of disgust. " Scarlet you are here to get help, not make friends. Your parents are busy people, that have jobs. You should be happy they care enough to send you here. " I sit in silence for the remainder of my time. I should have know he wouldn't care.
Meal time AKA government gruel. It's all crap made by people who couldn't get a better job, and it reflects our food. All the male nurses are in the cafeteria during all meals; incase something happens. By now everyone knows not to try anything in this area. Otherwise if your standing you're faded, setting you're already on the ground cuffed. It's worse than prison. In here they can hurt us and blame it on us; but in prison they can be charged. "Hey you need to eat, dinner time is almost over. I take one last look at the gruel before eating it.
Last step of the day, lights out. A nurse of your gender comes in, dresses you, gives the last of your medication, lays you down, then licks the door behind. "Did you swallow your pills? Let me see ?" I move my tongue as she says and let's her lie me down. Eventually drifting to sleep.
