Life used to be much simpler and less terrifying, but people are used to it now. They tolerate the werewolf gangs, and the alien attacks. Creepy figures lurking in shadows, eerie sounds at night, and vanishing people during the day.
Erin sat at the table across from the werewolf gang-lord. The lord's menacing glare chilling, but it did not effect the 16 year old human boy. "Make your bet, boy!" Rahf growled between clenched jaws. Erin glared back at him. "Would you be patient, you over grown dog!" Rahf snarled. "Alright, alright! 100 dollars on the white min." Erin laid his money in the box placed before him. "Pull the gate!" Rahf bellowed. The small child, called the 'gate master', yanked the cord it was holding, the gate to the elaborate corse slid to the side abruptly and the alien animals inside dashed forwards through the maze. It was a race, everyone bet on the animal they thought would win, and the first place winner got all the bids and the wining animal. The animals scampered this way and that through to the end, the white min finishing first. Erin jumped up with a shout of joy as the min finished and he was handed the box of winnings. Rahf snarled and growled threats, but Erin paid no attention, he gathered the box and his min before pushing his way to the door. Outside he heard Rahf raging, but kept running. He reached his apartment out of breathe. It was late into the night and would be safer inside. Erin stood on the steps a moment before opening the door and sprinting up two flights of stairs. He unlocked his door and closed it behind himself. Siting on the couch, he dumped the money he had won on the short coffee table. He leaned back into the couch cushions, sighing deeply. "Rahf sure does get angry easy!" He whispered, mostly to himself.
Erin awoke with sunlight warming his face. He had fallen asleep on the couch and slept in much later than intended. The little white min had fallen asleep on the coffee table. Erin sat up and pick up the min, it's long, slender body uncurling in his hand as it turned and ran up his arm, perching itself on his shoulder. He walked to the door and jogged back down the two flights of stairs. Standing on the almost empty empty side walk he glanced around trying to pick the next place to make some money for the night. He decided on the abandoned hotel that aliens of all kind often met to play games and drink booze. It would be best to avoid any of Rahf's usual places of game for a while. He started off in the direction of the hotel. Before he reached the hotel, Erin was intercepted by a couple of Rahf's gang members. They shoved Him into a nearby alley. "Hey now, fellas, let's not be rough, okay?" He held up his hands as he was backed up against a wall. "The boss wants his money!" The first goon growled. "His money!" Erin burst out before thinking. The second goon landed a fist hard in Erin's stomach without warning. Erin doubled over, groaning. "Oh, that money!" He said harshly. Straining up, he looked at the huge werewolves towering over him. This wasn't going to be easy. "Alright, I'll get Rahf his damn money!" Erin lied easily. "Humf!" The goons snorted. "Eh... What pub is Rahf playing tonight, I'll be there as soon as I get the money!" Another lie. "Cami Sol, be there!" The first one relied. The second punching him in the stomach again. Erin doubled over, again, giving one of them, he didn't see witch, the chance to hit him on the back, sending him to the ground.
The gang goons left the alley. Erin sat on his knees, doubled over in pain from the punches, for quite a while before rising weakly and walking back to his apartment. When he opened his door he had the shock of a tall girl standing in the middle of the living room. He closed the door behind him. "Who the hell are you?" He demanded. Her facial expression didn't change as she answered. "My name is Dawn."
"Are you here to collect money too! Well I'll just give you the bad news now, i ain't pay'n!"
"No, I'm here because you pissed off a werewolf gang-lord." Dawn stated plainly. Erin was shocked by her bluntness. She was stunningly beautiful, tight leather jacket, purple under shirt, knee high leather boots, black leggings, and long red hair parted off to one side. "Well that was rude!" Erin began moving about the apartment, gathering things up into a bag. "Oh, how's that?" Dawn looked slightly confused. "You have to be delicate when making a werewolf angry, and you just murdered that art simply by saying I 'pissed him off'!" Erin explained casually. Dawn shook her head as she listened and watched Erin. "Whatever! Anyway, I have been sent to relocate you so that this particular gang-lord isn't a danger to your life."
"Mmhmm" Erin continued with what he was doing, seeming not to pay attention to her. After a minute of silence Erin spoke. "Well I don't really care what your plans are but I hope that we don't meet again!" He picked up his bag and started for the door. Dawn grabbed his arm quickly, he turned and looked at her. "Where the hell are you going to go?" She asked irritably. "None of your business!" He shot back smartly. She huffed. "I've baby sat toddlers less annoying than you!"
"And we've only just met!" Erin smiled sweetly at her. She mocked the smile with emphasized sass. Erin turned to the door again. "Fine, don't let me stand in the way of you getting eaten by the werewolves!"
"Okay, I won't!" Erin left, leaving the door open behind him. Dawn watched him go down the stairs before walking to the window and looking down into the street as Erin emerged from the building. He walked down the sidewalk a ways before a small gang of werewolves, probably some of Rahf's gang, ambushed the boy, pushing him across the street towards the Cami Sol. Dawn rushes down the stairs and out onto the sidewalk. She sprints towards the gangs main hang out, the Cami Sol. The ambush gang and Erin have already disappeared inside when Dawn arrives outside the buildings large doors. She walks in casually, looks around and spots the door leading to the back room. One guard stands outside, he is easily taken care of. Dawn sets a small explosive charge on the door and stands back. The door falls in with a cloud of smoke. She hears the gang inside cough and choke on the smoke. Erin is laid out in the middle of the floor coughing and groaning, his face bleeding where he was kick repeatedly. Dawn throws a gas bomb to the floor after pulling Erin to his feet.
Outside the pub Dawn pulls out her phone. "I thought I told you I didn't want to meet again!" Erin says, wincing with pain. Dawn smiles. "Yeah, well I like annoying." Erin laughs. "So do you want to reconsider my offer to relocate you?"
"It didn't sound like much of an offer earlier!"
"Well, it is now!"
"Yeah, I suppose it might be time to piss off some other gang for a while, huh?" Erin smiles. Dawn rolls her eyes and calls for her evac team.
