"I'm going to start calling you Sunset." Journey laughed and looked over at his girlfriend, Memory, who was more focused on how cold she was then the conversation. "God damn it, Jour. No. We are not going to be that couple." Memory shook her head and wrapped her tanish arms around her knees, loose strands of bubble gum pink hair from her messy bun hanging in her face. "What couple? The one who likes to call each other cute things?" Memory laughed and smiled widely "Yes that couple. They are so weird! Pinching each others cheeks and calling each other things like Cupie Cake." Journey erupted in to laughter and wrapped his arms around her. "I will tell you why then maybe you can decide why I want to." "Why do you want to?" Looking into her emerald eyes he started to talk again. "Because the sunset is always more pretty then just Sunshine, like yourself who is prettier then all the girls the guys call Sunshine. Also, you have your bubble gum pink hair that makes me think of it." Memory smiled and started to blush lightly. She started to take in the scene a little as she layed her head under his.
It was what everyone called as a kid "Bird Beach" for the reason that birds like to attack it with feathers and waste during sometimes of the years. It had golden sand and a wide blue ocean, like a beach you might dream about. They weren't out in the open but in the rocky area behind a large bolder. The parking lot was a long walk away which was perfect for then in ways. The sun was setting in a way that matched her hair like he had said. Expect it had orange near the bottom unlike her hair. His words got her to thinks about how its only been a month between them, and it had been the best month of her life.
They had met at a roller rink and she could remember it like yesterday. Journey had his messy black hair in his face like Dan or Phil would wear it and had his violet eyes locked on Spotify as he DJ-ed the music. Her friends had dared her to walk up to him. They thought of her as a music freak and her book nerd best friend was yelling about how she shipped it already. When she walked up, their eyes locked for a second and he smiled at her. "Like my music?" "I prefer Fall Out Boy over whatever you're playing." She still remembered not really knowing his laugh that was becoming so familiar to her. "Its called AC/DC, They are freaking amazing unlike whatever Fall Out Boy is" Putting on her most shocked face, she moved him over started to type in a song. After only a couple minutes they were skating together laughing about different music and bands. When he left, he gave him two things, his number and a song there first song, Your Love by Outfield .Going back in to reality, she smiled a bigger smile. "Ok. I like sunset." Journey smirk at her and pulled out his head phones. He placed one into her ear and started to fiddle with his phone, looking for music. "Hopefully you're like this song too." He pressed on one and put the other white head phone into his ear. Music started to pour into their ears and one was more focused on it then the other. Mainly Journey who was worried if she would like it or not.
I have these thoughts
So often I ought
To replace that slot
With what I once bought
'Cause somebody stole
My car radio
And now I just sit in
silence
When the song turned to the next she took out headphone and smiled "What's it called?" He looked down at the phone and reread the title "Car Radio by Twenty One Pilots" It was another band he was slowly becoming a fan of and she could see it in his eyes when they light up when be said the name. "It's deep. About over thinking." "I believe it is Sunset." They were moved to silence as past conversations moved to each other's minds. They didn't like to talk about his school life or his at home life. It hurt them both, because she couldn't be there for him and because he had to deal with it.
