In a world
Made of paper skin
Where spoken words
Are written with pen
Memories cherished
Feelings explained
Each paper thin skin
Will be destroyed day by day
Strike a match and light the side
Curl the edges of life left to die
Drown in the bathtub
Let the ink soak
As everything falls apart
We disintegrate our hope
Grab the scissors and slash the middle
For it has to be done
Because God forbid anybody ever believe
That there could be something beyond what we've always known
Never let them read the entire book
Made from the stories of us all
For they don't deserve to understand
The world bound by the pages they maul
If they were to trust and believe in what is before them
They would be creatures of not only day, but night
But fools they are, jumping to conclusions to far
Right off the buildings
Thrown off the roof
Into the bathtub
Behind the guns of their wasted youth
They rip apart what they create
Because they can't find the words
But the book is forever incomplete
Because they refuse to see what they are
