"And so when Ms.W came, Sabrina looked frightened." Sam started as we walked in the classroom.
"Absolutely terrified." Sam opened her lunch bag.
"Then?" Caroline asked.
As I unzipped my lunch bag."Ms.Wilson was all like 'go to the office' and Sabrina's all just like 'why? It was an accident!' "
"Yeah." Said Caroline, as she opened her container.
"Accident?" I asked. "So she wet her pants?"
We all laughed, it was kind of nice to make someone smile after they've frowned.
"'You've been getting into fights! Go to the office and think of what you've done, and eat lunch there too, because I'm not going to be there to get you and whoever out of another fight' Ms.W told her...and then Angel left." Sam finished.
"Angel, nah....try devil" Caroline added in a whisper.
Caroline ate a piece of chicken and than looked at me while Sam started on an orange.
"Hey guys, can I have your phone numbers? Then you know, we can text each other and all." I ask them.
"Sure!"
We exchanged phone numbers just as the bell rang.
During recess, Victoria told us that Sabrina was standing against the wall and then tripped her and said 'sorry'.
I told them how Sabrina treated Caroline.
Soon enough, it was language class.
Apparently we have different teacher for language, Mrs.Roberts.
Once again I'm introduced to the teacher, I got a notebook, and she gave me the book, from the learning group I'm in.
The book is called 'A Mango Shaped Space'. I have to read 5 chapters, yay!'RING'
"Um...Katie, do you want to come over?" Caroline asked.
"We just moved so I have to unpack. But you could come to my house!" I suggested.
"Ya! I was supposed to go to Sabrina's! I can just get my mom to pick you up!" Caroline smiled.
"Great, I'll call mine. When do you want to stay until?"
"6pm? That's when my mom was going to pick me up from her house."
I went through my contacts and found mom.
"Hello" came through the other side.
"Can Caroline come over, please, we can decorate my room and her mom said ok, until 6pm" I talked rapidly.
"Ok, as long as she gets a ride home after. And come by the bus please, and don't forget Sophia." Mom says than hangs up the phone.
"My mom can pick me up, I just need your address." Caroline says.
"I'll tell you when we are at my house, the one with the blue door, and white car." I smile as we walk towards Sophia's classroom.
"Come on Sophia" I say once I see her.
"Who is she?" Sophia asks.
"She's Caroline, she coming over." I tell her. "Now hurry up! We can't miss the bus"
The three of us run towards the bus.
"I usually take the bus home." Caroline tells me.
"Cool." I smile, we sit together in silence. While the excitement floats in the air.
Sophia sat next to a girl who looks about 9 years old."We're here" I tell them.We climb off the bus. We run to 'my' house.
I shove the key into the lock and open the door.
We walk in and take off our shoes.
I walk in and see a couch, a rug, and a coffee table!
The flat screen tv was there before, but not on a stand!"Mom!" I shout.
"Hey! I just got us a couch! And that rug, and the coffee table." She pointed
"I also jazzed up the kitchen, you know added chairs some near counter." Mom continued.
"This is Caroline" I introduced.
"Nice to meet you, come on in! And just a heads up, there are boxes everywhere!" Mom smiles, than turns around and headed off to the kitchen.
She was right it was clean, fewer boxes (maybe by one) and there was a pot on the stove, and groceries on the table.
We sat on the high stools next to the counter and I took out my math textbook.
"Two pages, 7 questions!" Caroline complained, as she pulled her textbook out of her bag.
"Well finish fast, or I'll eat these double chocolate chip cookies my self" Mom said pulling one out of a box.
"You two are in the same class, right?" Mom asked, trying to bring up a conversation; taking a bite of her cookie.
"Yup!" said Caroline not looking up.
Mom went to the stove to stir something, smells like chilli.
7 over 6 simplified is 1 and 1 6th.
MATH! OMG I DID MATH!
