Ashlee pov
Class was over and thank god. Not only did I sound like an idiot he has to meet my  family tonight! This is going to be so humiliating. I walked out with my books and guess who happened to walk pass me and accidentally knock my books out my hand. Merideth Blake the queen bee of school. No one likes her except for the boys if you know what I mean.
"Whoops ahaha slut" she laughed
"Oh uh here, let me help" he said
"joey um u um thanks"
"It's all good and don't let her get to you she is a bitch" he giggled
Ahhh he had the cutest giggle like a little toddler.
"Yeh well thanks again I gotta go bye" I said as I started walking away.
"Oh okay.."
I got to my locker put my stuff away and walked towards the canteen to get my tray. I looked around for Xanthe and waved for her to take the spot in front of me. We walked out to the back off the library to sit and eat. No one goes there ever since the rumour about a guy being killed there. Of course we made it up so we didn't care.
"Any gos girl?"
"No other than having joey as my home assignment partner!"I screeched.
"Damn do you want me to come over tonight to help?"
"YESSSSSS PLEASE" I begged
"Haha ok" she giggled.
"Hey how's my favourite baes goin?" Tywan said.
Tywan was our closest friend that was a guy he was also gay but we didn't care gays are normal people just like us and have rights to. We all sat down giggling and just talking about life and our day. Soon the bell went and we had to go to class.

*Ring Ring Ring*
(Skip to end of school)
X and I agreed to meet at the oval at the end of school so we could go to my place. We grabbed our skate boards and road to my house which was only a few streets away.
" ok I'm stressing out what do I wear"
"Calm down and sit over there, X's got this one" She said with a slight giggle.
She was going through my whole closet and by the looks of it I think she found something. It was a blue overall with badges on it. She threw it away complaining it was weird as I just laughed. Next she pulled out my white sundress with lacy ends and by the amazement and awe in her eyes I knew she found the right piece.

"Wear this" she demanded.
"Yes ma'am" I giggled.
I tried it on and to my surprise I actually looked really good. The dress complimented my long wavy beach hair which was natural. She applied some eyeliner and mascara to my eyes but I didn't think it was necessary but it looked OK. We started to get the things ready for the project and when we were done she left. I was feeling alright after all the help X had given me. She really is a good friend. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the door bell ring.

Joeys pov
I rang the door bell and had a few chills. I never really noticed Ash before we never spoke or anything. She is really pretty and really sweet. I think I like her but I don't really know her. She answered the door and greeted me inviting me in. We walked to the kitchen and sat down.
"So what do you want to do?" She asked grabbing snacks from the kitchen. Argh she looked beautiful in her dress I just wanted to go up and kiss her ......wait what no Joey stop, you don't even know her.
"Umm maybe we could make like make helium using gases I don't know I can't think" she started giggling she has such a cute laugh and has the most adorable smile.
" that's a great idea Joey. My dad was a scientific researcher and has stuff like that in this lab thing out the back. Come on." She grabbed my hand pulling me to the backyard.

Ashlee pov
My dad died three years ago, there was a mass killing in his research facility my dad being the person he was tried to stop the killer. He got shot. I grabbed Joeys hand and ran to the backyard. As soon as I opened the door Neila my German Shepard puppy ran up and jumped on Joey. I couldn't help but laugh.
" sorry about that. This is Neila, we just rescued her from the pound a few weeks ago and she is still in training." I say as I grab her from jumping and pick her up.
" it's cool I love dogs and she is beautiful" he pats her and I smile.
We walk to this shed like room. I have never been in here before and I'm excited. As soon as I open the door I am amazed. It's bigger on the inside then I thought and it looked like a man cave but with a big table with serums and scientific research in the middle.
" Wow this place is amazing" joey dropped his jaw.
We walked around and sat at a table writing out the things we think we would need. I jumped up and grabbed some chemicals and gases to see what reactions I could make. Joey stood up and was just staring at me. I was confused.

Joey pov
I stood up and was staring at her. She was just so beautiful I couldn't help myself. I think she caught me staring because she gave me a confused look.
"You're so smart, how do you know this stuff?" I ask trying to cover for myself.
"Oh haha I guess I get it from my dad" she giggles argh it's so cute.
I help her and it's been about an hour. We still haven't finished but we have done a lot. We go back inside to find Ash's mom inside cooking. We jump and she lands in my arms, I wish she stayed there.
"Hey babe, whatcha....who's this?" She asked with a smirk. I just laugh.
" mom" she rolls her eyes.
" I'm Joey, nice to meet you. I'm Ashlee's lab partner, we are doing a project" I say shaking her hand.
" oh ok, well would you like to have dinner with us?" She asked
" sure Mrs K"
"Okay well Ash can you show Joey were he can put his bag and you guys can chill for a bit"
She takes me upstairs and tells me to just put my bag in her room.
"Sorry about my mom. She's been really close to me ever since my dad died a few years ago.
Her dad died?
