My girl sesh with Em did not even happen, thanks to Noah. It was a bit aggravating that he kept her for himself for the rest of the day.
We agreed to meet at Starbucks for the next day instead.
As I was on my way, my mind was pre-occupied by last night's dispute.
"I didn't come alone, guys." Em announced after dinner.
Suddenly the light mood had vanished and was replaced with long silence. Awkward.
"What's with the faces? Em has company, what's the big deal?" I spoke, breaking the awkward silence. "B, please move a little bit. And could you find an outlet for me so I could charge my lappy while doing some works?" I sat between him and Gab then handed him the charger.
When I said work, I meant my wattpad stories. Yeah, I was a frustrated writer trying to make it big in the world of Writing.
So far, I had started two works already. I did not have the drive to finish the other one though. However, it was most likely that my recent story would be done in a month. I would finish this one, I enjoyed writing every character of the story.
"So, who you came with, girl?." I inquired as I started typing.
Gab seemed to recover from his silence as he playfully disturbed me. I pinched his reaching hand and settled it on his lap.
"Stop playing with my hair, only Pantene and Creamsilk touch my hair." I joked as I focused my attention back to Em.
"Well, I came with Jace. I know you have issues with him but he's here to make amends." She shrugged.
"Who's Jace?" I asked, 'cause honestly I had no idea who were they talking about.
"He was our vocalist. Apparently, he backed out." Brent offered.
"Turned his back, you meant." Noah's reaction told me that he was not a big fan of Jace.
So that was the reason why Noah was doing vocals and guitar at the same time.
Gab stared at Noah with incredulous look on his face, and said, "Noah, it's not his fault that he was faced with his own demons then. Not to mention his issues with Amanda."
Were my ears functioning well? For the first time, Gab said something of substance. I would most likely to tease him but seeing their serious faces, I did not think it would be entertained.
"Let me remind you that before we formed the band, we all knew about his issues. Don't be obtuse. He left us not because he couldn't face his own demons but because he chose that bitch over us!" Noah's outrage was beyond his character. Good thing Em was here.
"Let me also remind you that he is still our brother." Brent hissed, matching Noah's enrage.
"He was. The moment he walked out from that door," Noah lifted his arm and pointed out the door. "He was no longer part of this group."
I tried to catch Jared's attention who was silent the whole argument. Seconds later, much to my delight, he looked at my direction. I willed him to come closer while the others were still arguing.
"Don't you have anything to say?" I asked him once he was settled at my side.
He chuckled then took the seat vacated by Brent, stretching his strong arms. "Nah. Let them argue all they want. Besides, aren't you enjoying the little show?"
I gave him a 'what-the-fuck' epithet before turning my attention to the three boys who were now on much heated argument. Em was at Noah's side, calming him by rubbing his arms.
