Helena and I were walking down the long white hallway to what was supposedly the main conference room. There was a map on our wall so that we could navigate.

I wasn't sure if we were supposed to wear those embarrassing clothes or not, so I just slipped on my nightgown over it.

Helena kept her nightgown off, I kept my eyes away from her. It felt awkward looking at someone who had skin tight elastic clothing on. But she was very slim, I could see her ribs. It made me self conscious about my body....

Before I knew it, we were at the large doors, wooden and standing out from the bland decor. I knocked once, as Helena stood behind me.

Wonder what's happening in there...

Quite swiftly after I knocked, the double doors opened, revealing a large room, about 15 feet high, with huge windows on one side of the room, black tile laid on the floor, along with one very large round table in the middle of the room.

I walked in, noticing two other people in, a young boy on the far right, about 12 or 13 years old actually. He had light brown hair that was brushed up into a swoop.

Seriously? Why is a little kid here?

Don't be such an a**hole. Maybe he's like a little spitfire.

There was someone else, a woman, around 25-30 years old on the opposite side of the table. She was a wider person, but was exceptionally beautiful. Her dark brown hair ran in shiny curls, down to just below her shoulders. She looked very bored.

I went in and sat down at the table. The kid looked up at me and frowned.

"Two more girls? Augh." He said, looking down at the table again.

I was taken aback, and furrowed my brow.

12 year olds....

Helena took the seat next to me and I looked back as the door opened once more, revealing a man in his late 30's. He was tall and skinny, with a small goatee and was bald.

Is every guy here bald?

As soon as I thought that, the young, skinny guy from last night came into my mind, and a surge of hope went through me. I swallowed and looked out the window. Why was I hoping to see him again?

He was super hot.

My face went red and I looked down at the wooden table. Stupid feelings.

Helena must have noticed because she looked at me and giggled.

"You look like you just got a fever out of nowhere. Or you're thinking of something...." She elbowed me and wiggled her eyebrows. I groaned, embarassed.

The tall man came and sat down at the table again. Now that I noticed it, everyone was wearing those dumb suits. I sighed and took off my nightgown as well.

What even... When will... Augh! Can we just get going with saving the world already? Somehow? Is it in trouble in the first place? Whaaaat is happening?!

I hated when things were going on behind my back. Hated it.

After an exceptionally long 5 minutes, on the far right of the room, a door opened, and out came the guy from last night. The skinny one.

The hot one.

I blushed. Again.

He walked to the far front end of the table with his hands folded.

"Hello new recruits. We welcome you to our team, thank you very much for cooperating." He bowed politely. "We are very sorry to announce that Mr. Collins will not be joining us for our meeting, he is busy with--" He glanced to the ground and swallowed. "---Other business. We will begin the procedures for you to start on your way to be the face of the T.O.M.S. team." He bowed again and simply left.

Well that didn't explain sh*t.

I sighed and looked at Helena. She shrugged, then jumped sightly from the large white screen, like the ones you would use for a projector, rolling down from the ceiling.

A familiar face appeared on screen. I couldn't tell who, but it was someone I had seen before. Who... Is that... My heart stopped. Was that the high hobo on the bus?! My jaw dropped.

"Greetings new recruits."
That sentence wasn't new.

"You will now be trained to fight and defend as part of the T.O.M.S. team. I am your instructor, Derrick. Please call me Mr. Merkenson." His voice was solid, his eyes sincere, like the guy you would want on your side. But why was he on the Salem Cherriots bus? That question may never be answered.

"You will not be told your jobs until tomorrow, and no information will be revealed about the location or mission that this facility attains to. The rules are posted on every entrance and exit." He paused, gazing at all of us. Examining each face.

"You will now be escorted to the armory."

Two robots came through the door, waiting for us. The bigger lady got up first, glancing at me.

"Sierra." She said softly. I smiled. "Quen." I replied. She smiled at the ground.

"My name is Trevor, if anyone wanted to know." The little boy piped up. No one really wanted to know.

"I'm Gordon." The taller man smiled and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you." He shook everyone else's hand. "I'm looking forward to working with all of you."

"The name's Helena!" The British girl squeaked from beside me. "It's awesome to meet with you all!"

I smiled and walked out the door, following Gordon and Sierra. The robot escorts took us to a smaller room, where there were 5 armor stands full of armor, each a different size, obvously for us 5.

A speaker turned on and a voice came through the intercom.

"Please pick and wear your labeled armors."

I looked at all of the tiny nametags on the wall behind the stands:

Gordon
Bronze armor with embedded amber.
Trevor
Steel armor with embedded pearls.
Sierra
Platinum armor with embedded rubies.
Quen
Sterling silver armor with embedded lapis lazuli.
Helena
Gold-plated armor with embedded emeralds.

I took mine, fitting it on nicely. It reminded me of the knights at the round table with King Arthur. The armor was shining, mideval style, but with a hint of modernness to it. Like blowing dust off of an old book and writing a new chapter in it. Everyone else had theirs on, and we looked awesome. Totally badass.

"We all look so badass." I said aloud. Everyone smiled at me. I even smiled.

"So what now? We joust?" Helena said jokingly.

"Yeah, right. Where's my mighty steed?" I smiled and heard a voice come through the intercom.

"We will now proceed to the fighting ring." Derrick said through the crackly speaker.

"Oh. I guess I was right!" Helena giggled.

"There you will discover the top 6 ways for your death to be caused on the T.O.M.S. battlefield."
