I apologize that I fully redid this chapter. Chapter two will also be changed. I wasn't enjoying the hate thing going on at the beginning between Chelsea and Corinna. I also wanted to get Jason into the first chapter. So no POV from Chelsea from now on. Sorry. Updated 12/29/11

The diner had been busy most of the night but seemed to finally be slowing down.

"Corinna, I'm leaving!" Margaret, the other waitress, waved as she walked out the front door.

I looked a the clock. It was 9 and my shift would end in two hours. The rush had lasted 6 hours straight. The burgers were amazing here but they weren't THAT amazing. First the high schoolers had piled in after school. Next were the kids getting out of clubs or moms who had finished errands after picking up the kids who just needed to relax while the kids ate. After that started the dinner rush. Finally there were people who came in for late dinners or dessert. Becky had brought in Chelsea, as promised, in the middle of the chaos, but I didn't have the chance to spend any time with them. I hated missing dinners with them. I had been pulling doubles as much as I could to help pay their rent. If Becky couldn't find a job that paid more, I would probably have to give up my apartment and move in with them. As much as I loved my sister and enjoyed Chelsea and her 8 year old shenanigans, I loved having my own place. Luckily, Trina and Evette had both quit last week over an ignorant argument with each other. That gave me at least another week to make as much as I could.

Noticing all but two tables had left, I quickly ran into the ladies room to fix my hair and wipe the ketchup off my 50's style uniform. That's a stain. I hated this uniform. A white blouse was never a good idea for a waitress. And the poodle skirt? Yes, a hideous poodle skirt. The whole retro diner thing brought in more customers. I just found it annoying. But it was a job. I needed this job.

"I should have stayed in school." I muttered to myself.

I walked back out when I heard the bell over the front door ring. The world stopped rotating for a minuite as I cought a glimpse of the man who had just walked in. I loved how I could still tell that he was fit under his baggy jeans, but not annoyingly fit. I was never a fan of six packs. The green tee he had on made his brown eyes almost two different colors. He had black hair just long enough to spike about an inch but looked a little messed. His best features were around his mouth. Dimples were on both sides, deep set by the smile he was flashing me. Smile? It took me the last few seconds of that minute to realize he had noticed I was staring.

Stop staring Rina... I can't!

"Can I sit anywhere or do I need to be seated?"

I entered back into reality. "Huh?"

He laughed. "I'll just sit in this booth." Grabbing his own menu from the hostess station we had never had a hostess for, he sat down. "Can I get some water?"

I smiled and went to the soda station to grab a cup. What happened to my mouth? Why couldn't I answer?

I kept glancing at him around the side of the soda machine until I felt the cold water spill around my hand.

Dammit! Get it together.

Putting on my best smile I walked up to his table. I admit I swayed my hips a little more than normal and tilted my head a little to try and look cute. He was watching and taking his time to look me up and down so it must be working.

"My name is Corinna. Are you ready to order?"

He smirked before answering. "I didn't see Corinna anywhere on the menu. I may need a little more time since I can't have what I want."
