Being

Before all of this, life was great, I guess.

Being a normal teenage human girl; who works at the Mystery Shack, getting an hourly wage of $10, was great; being what I was.

But now I was escaping the wrath of an overlord. I was keeping my breath as steady as possible to try to keep up stamina.

Running.

That's all I was doing. Running away from those beasts of the night, the ones that haunt dreams-no. The ones that haunt nightmares, waking you up in the middle of the night, leaving you wondering if they could actually exist.

The sky above was red, almost like a rusty orange mixed with blood.

The forest was set ablaze by a known culprit. Well, he could be known if you count his demonic voice, and his triangular form. And his name.

Oh, his name. It annoyed the hell out of me.

He had said his name was Bill Cipher, then told us to call him "Our lord and master for all of eternity."

The Mayor tried to get him out with humane words, saying to him to "Get...get on outta' here!" But Cipher is not humane. Not in the least.

Although, by then, I had already taken shelter by running. I knew that that Cipher...thing, would take over. I knew being stationary was not going to help my situation. The one of being captured, that is.

The townspeople were captured.

Turned to statues of themselves. I thought it was all of them that were gone, that that Bill Cipher guy had taken hostage. Probably to do some gruesome task or to eat their souls.

Oh gosh....what about the Pines' twins? I hope they made it...

A flash of something red and leathery graced my vision, slightly.

Run. Faster. It'll catch you. Whatever it is.

I wasn't fast enough.

My legs stopped suddenly, and I realized I was under a ray of heat...more like a red light really.

I glanced down at my feet to find them stone.

Time seemed to slow as the stone crawled ever so slowly up my body.

Then, bam. The stone covered me completely, I was terrified.

All I saw was black. Nightmares filled my head, which made me want to scream, wake up, to a soft and decently semi-normal day of life in Gravity Falls.

This is a dream you can't wake up from. One you'll never escape unless freed. You know that.

"Who-who's there? Reveal yourself!"

"Huh." A voice spoke from behind me.

I slowly turned as it said, "I thought you'd be more...fearless. Much less of a meatsack, being what you are."

I finished turning to find myself face to face with that evil corn chip that took over my town. Took over my home.

"And what exactly am I?" I was more angry and annoyed at his voice than scare at that point.

"Well, since your almost to my Fearamid, how about when you get there I'll unfreeze you and we'll talk! For now, remember...actually. Nevermind. BYEEE!" He left.

"I was thinking he'd be scarier in person. Huh."

Soon, nightmares plagued me.

I was turned into a bloodied mess in ways too inhumane to describe. Demons constantly surrounded me; seemingly never that Triangle One; driving fear into my heart.
