September 2013

You were walking on the pavement, taking a swift turn to the right as you head on to your apartment. Unlocking the door, you went inside. You opened the lights, which were a bit dim by the way, and you set your bag down on the couch. You looked around... empty. It was always empty. You heaved a big sigh as you plopped yourself on the couch, next to your bag. You thought for a while. Is it right? What you're doing right now? Keeping yourself away from your family? Distancing yourself from the people who care about you and love you? It was always like this. Every time you enter your empty apartment, thoughts of your family and past friends would surface their way into your mind. You were tired of it. You feel guilt and pain run across your body every time the thoughts come in. But you can't do anything, can you? It's like you don't have a choice. But you miss them, dearly. There were times wherein 'What if's' and 'But's' would try to make you change your decision, but the thought of the ones you love getting hurt, it hurts you more. And so you stuck with your choice.

Everyone kept on asking you, "What's wrong?", "Are you okay?", and "Please tell me the reason." But you would just shake your head and give them a smile. "Nothing's wrong.", "I'm fine.", and "There's nothing to tell." were your answers. What a big lie. You knew nothing was alright. That everything, was in fact, wrong.

You stood up and made your way to the balcony, and as if on cue, little droplets of rain started to fall. You outstretched your hands and felt the cool water touch your skin. You smiled a bitter smile, and tears were threatening to fall. Thoughts continued to fill your mind. And moments later, the rain started to get heavy, so were your tears, as they started to stream down your face without you knowing. You were sobbing. You were tired of this life. You wished time would pass by so fast and then you could die, easy as that.

"I wish Luhan ge was here..." You looked up the sky. "He'd make me happy, and would make me forget the pain I'm going through right now..." You smiled bitterly.

Luhan was your half-brother. Older than you, yes. His father died when he was still a young boy. His mother decided to re-marry, which brought forth, you. Luhan loves you very much. He would punch or kick anyone who tries and dare hurt you. You smiled at the memories that seeped in.

Moments passed, when a knock was suddenly heard at the door. You blinked away your tears and wiped them with your sleeve, before checking yourself in the mirror, making sure there weren't any traces left. You made your way to the door, thinking 'Who could this be?'. You opened it, revealing a tall hooded figure, obviously soaked because of the rain. He looked up, shivering a bit before uttering a "C-Could I go i-inside?". He spoke in flawless Korean, and so you assumed he was one. You contemplated for a while before nodding and letting the guy in. You hardly even know him but being the nice person you were, you let him in anyway. He stood there for a while, analyzing the place before turning to look at you. "Thank you." He smiled. You nodded in return.

"'I'm just going to get you a change of clothes and a towel, okay? I'll be back." And with that, you headed off to your room. You remember keeping some of Luhan's old clothes with you, and so you got him some sweatpants and a black shirt. When you went back to the living room, he was still standing on the same spot you left him before. You chuckled inwardly at how he looks right now.
