She silently stood there, dressed in a pretty, long black dress. Her eyes held tears, but overall she didn't seem affected. She had gone through this too many times for it to really affect her anymore.
The simple coffin was brought over to the place where it would be buried, containing the body of her husband. Her best friend was crying softly beside her, the friend giving her a kind smile. She held the hands of her grown children that were on either side of her. Her daughter, the one on the left, was crying loudly, but not loud enough for everyone to hear. Her son, however, was sobbing with a megaphone. She looked down at the ground, and thought about how she was thankful her husband had died when both their children had grown up and were married.
When she looked up, her husband's mother- Katrina- had approached.
"Could you do the honors?" she asked her. She nodded her head and slowly released her children's hands. Katrina then put her arm around her and shambled her to the front, softly rubbing her back as they went. She was very happy that her husband's family had been a kind one.
When they reached the front, Katrina took her hand and held it in both of her own. She then squeezed her hand and smiled sadly as she asked "Care to share your memories?"
She smiled back at Katrina, trying not to show the slight nervousness she had. She wasn't nervous about sharing, just making sure not to share the wrong things. It would confuse them all greatly and make them think she had cheated on her husband.
She began to relay her memories, and smiled as she did so. Overtime, the tears began to actually fall down her soft cheeks and her voice began to quiver. No matter how many times she did this, the memory part of the ceremony would always break her down. Eventually her words started to drift off, and her kids ran up to her. They held her and cried with her, and everyone was deeply affected by the sight. It even caused some silent criers to begin sobbing loudly...

She watched as the passing of the houses slowed down as her house came into view. She had been driven home by her daughter, named Celine, from the funeral. Her son, Andreis, had requested that Celine take her home, so that she could have some company and to make sure that she got home safe. The only reason he didn't was because he needed to get to work by 12 o'clock that afternoon. Celine slowly brought the car to a stop and then turned off the car. They both sat there for a while in silence. Celine then broke it with:
"Need any help getting in, Mom?" She turned and smiled at her mom, who looked at her and shook her head. Celine was a little worried about how much this had affected her mom, as she wasn't being very talkative. She watched her mom get out of the car and begin to walk toward her home. She watched her for a bit before calling out "Call me if you need anything!"
"Sure thing!" was the voice-cracked reply. A tear couldn't help but fall down Celine's face.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Hi-ya everyone! That was a little longer than I intended it to be, but oh well. I hope it wasn't too confusing, trying to decipher when the main character- always referred to as "She" or "Her"- or someone else was talking. I purposely didn't say a name yet- you'll know why later. By later, I mean either very soon or a while from now. I'm really eager to write this, so I don't think it'll be too far from now. Tell me in the comments how you feel about the story, and give some feedback please! I do ask for you to be kind, for I'm still a little shaky on trying to write stories that don't bore people or are too confusing. I do write stories a lot in my free time, but I still have a lot to work on.
Also, if there comes a point when I haven't updated in a while, I apologize ahead of time. There are a lot of times where I'll start writing then never finish. Though, since I have an idea why that is, it might not happen with this. I don't know though... So just a warning. Sorry, again, if it does.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the story!

P.S. Hope you like the quote. I thought it would be nice to have a quote for this chapter, and that seemed to fit best. Also, I might not do much with the other story ("The Towns of Day and Night") for a while since I need to re-write the chapter I started and procrastination is taking over me. I actually feel a pang of dread whenever I think about it xD.
