Indifferent, I was, to the world
To the world of insults, sins, and hatred
Never did I thought, never did I dream
About love's power, its beauty, and you
Love, whether falling deep in it or not
Unites red and white, minds and hearts
This, almost everyone says and speaks of
Except for me, except for the past me
I used to laugh and criticize it
Yes, love, foolish romantic love, I'd say
Never did I wish, never did I hope
Likewise it would laugh at me and say, "I told you so."
'Cause I never really dreamed of happy endings
Of soulmates, of marriages, of love
Never really thought of that special half
Of that prince, of that knight, of you
And the laughter continues
And love's haughty whispers
Constantly ringing in my poor ear
Mocking me, thanking me for accepting you
Every giggle, snort, and smirk of it
Opens my mind, my closed heart
To a whole new horizon-a nirvana, I may say
Where love dwells, where you dwell
And even how long love's mocks would take
Or how annoying they might really get
As long as I have love-you with me
The world, once cruel, will hold a new light
