"Come on Y/N!" Snotlout yelled in annoyance. Sighing, I let Syralth lead me through to the edge of the cliffs, trying to keep myself firmly on the ground unless nessecary. One look at the edge and I almost puked.

I kept my head held up, trying not to look at the water beneath us, as I walked over to Snotlout. He seemed so calm about this. How?

I gulped, pulling on a fake smile as a sat down next to him, pulling my knees up to my chest and wrapping my arms around them.

"So... What did you want to show me?" I asked the boy curiously.

He looked at his feet, and one wild guess said that he hadn't really wanted to show me anything.

"I thought we could talk for a bit and get to know each other, you know?" He finally replied. "Okay, sounds cool," I answered quietly, my head was getting dizzier and I looked at my feet trying to focus and steady my breathing. I didn't need an attack, not now.

"Uh, You say ten facts about yourself and then I'll say ten facts about me?" He asked, "Ok then." I said, trying not to think about the possibility of me plummeting to my death.

I tapped on my knee as I thought about what to say.
"Okay, here I go,
1. My full name is Y/F/N,
2. I've had Syralth for around five or six years now,
3. My favourite colour is baby blue,"

I continued telling Snotlout facts about myself as he nodded or answered "cool" every few facts. It was really helping my anxiety.
Finally, when getting up to number ten, I decided that I had to tell Snotlout that we needed to leave as it was getting too much and that I was most likely going to die if we stayed here much longer.

"Y/N are you okay?" Snotlout asked, concern lacing his voice as I snapped out of my thoughts.

"Oh, yeah" I laughed forcefully, not realising I had been staring at my feet for a while, "Are you sure?" He asked uncertainly. "You look really pale." "Yeah I'm fine." I shot back getting slightly annoyed. "Y/N stop lying, you're a bad liar, tell me the truth." he said again. "Please?"

"I said, I'm fine." I stood up walking over to where Syralth and Hookfang were playing, tears threatening to spill as I tried holding strong. I couldn't cry, he would call me weak and sissy just all of the other kids did.

But Snotlout stopped me.

"You're not fine," He said calming his voice, looking dead straight into his eyes. "What's wrong." Less like a question, more a like demand. Great.

"You promise you won't laugh at me and call me weak?"

"Of course I wouldn't! You're my friend! I'm not that mean Y/N." He protested.

"Also promise you won't tell the others at the academy?"

"I promise."

"Oh okay," I braced myself for the complete utter humiliation to come, "I'm affraid of heights."

Snotlout looked at me questionably, before fully processing what I had said.

"Is that all?" He asked, tilting his head as he questioned me. I nodded, mumbling something I couldn't even comprehend.

"I'm sorry." He said "You should have told me, I wouldn't have brought you up here." "Snotlout, it's okay. I'm fine." You smiled, rolling your eyes and he smiled back.

Snotlout offered me a hand as I mounted Syralth and I pushed his arm gently laughing at his random gesture. I had a feeling that Snotlout and I were going to be great friends. That boy had somehow already made me completely forget everything and gave me butterflies that I wouldn't admit.
He was keeping me completely distracted and unaware of he situation I was in and I couldn't help but smile and laugh along with him.

Well, until he fell.
