Alex's way out

The rest of the day

Once class was over I talked to Kate a little more. She told me everything that was going on and I told her to come over my house anytime she wanted too and I smiled. Then the teacher walks out and we start heading to are next class but the teacher stops us.

Teacher- hey why did you both come so late to my class?

Kate- Um....no reason...

Teacher- there's something going on isn't it.

Alex- no she dropped all her things and I help her pick it all up and then her locker got cut off.

Teacher- oh how did it get cut off? It's the first day of school. That just surprise me.

Alex- she just for got her key and she lost her other key at her house so she had to get it cut off.

Kate- yeah Alex was at my house this morning because her dad drop her off.

Teacher- oh okay if you both are late again I'm writing you both up so be early next time.

Both girls- okay.

As where walking I see people staring at me crazy because they think Kate is insane. But people really don't know what's she's going though. It sometimes makes me mad.

Kate- why did you help me? And lie to that teacher.

Alex- the reason I help you is because do you really want the teachers to spectate you and your family? And I was always the one to help others and not myself...when I was younger and I still do.

Kate- no I guess not...but why do people like you help if your not happy?

Alex- I am when I help others. But I'm not happy because my mom died in a house fire and my fucking dad moved and I wanted to stay....but he says "he doesn't want to remember what happened" but I'm also have my older brother.

Kate- I'm sorry for your loss...and I'm sorry I brought it up...

Alex- no don't be I really don't mind. I mean if I'm going to have a friend I have to tell them what happened to me,am I right?

Kate- yeah you're right.

We finally got to our second class and it was math. After that class we have reading class. Half the day goes by and Kate and me are still having trouble getting though the hallway with out being hit with elbows. Then we are at lunch, we grabbed are lunch and sit down at one of the tables. But I didn't eat that's because I'm a vegetarian and there was meat but Kate didn't know.

Kate- why aren't you eating?

Alex- oh that's because I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat meat.

Kate- oh dose your family know.

Alex- yeah they know but they always try to make me eat meat especially my older brother James.

Kate- did they tell the school?

Alex- no but it's okay usually I've had to not eat at school one hole year because I didn't like meat.

Kate- oh but don't starve yourself.

Alex- I won't.

I smile and continue reading my book. Then a boy comes to the table and asked us if we where going to eat the food that was on the table but we both say no. Then he walks off with the tray.

Then we head to our last and final class of the day. So after that me and Kate started heading towards the bus and we sit together and she gets the window since I get off first. But then the same boy gets on and I look down to read my book. Then he pulls my hair and I get mad so then I grabbed his arm and put my arm around his head and start choking him.

Alex- you give up now!

The boy lets out a little breath of words
Boy??- l..let....me....go...

I drop him and told him not to mess with me again or hill be history.
So then the bus moves and really Kate got off first before I did. So I wave goodbye and the bus starts again but this time it's mine stop. Then I get off and say "thanks" the bus driver looks like he doesn't really care. I walk up to the house and the doors locked. I opened up my book bag and I found my key. So then I opened the door to get in I walk up the stairs and down the hall. My dad still isn't home and so isn't my James. But then I look outside and there's my brother.....he's drunk....fuck...I lock my door and stay back. He's done this many times but I don't know how long this door can last it's not like my old door. Shit I'm screwed. He starts banging on the door.

James- open this fucking door!!

Alex- oh hell no not you like that!! Get to your room and go to bed you dumb ass.

James- come over and say that to my face you little slut!!

Alex- suck my ass James!!!

He walks up the hall and into his room then he's nock out. I'm just glad I didn't get hurt like last time.
